MangoLover4Life:  You can make it as special as you want. Just because you are having a small wedding and a dessert reception doesn’t mean you can’t have basically everything any other bride has.

Having a small wedding actually gives you more opportunities in some ways. You could borrow and use family linens, tea cups and plates , silver etc

You can personalize the centerpieces because you don’t have to make so many.

What kind of ideas are you looking for?

I am getting married in Sept as well! 🙂

What about having a small high tea party? This was originally my idea before we decided to have a dinner instead. You could brew up some tea, coffee,  lemonade, punch etc and have fruit, finger sandwitches, cookies, etc and maybe have some champage for a toast.

Or maybe you could have a brunch? I love the idea of a brunch/breakfast wedding. I am doing all my flowers myself and making a lot of items, it’s loads of fun because I am learning how to do all kinds of craft projects.

I am getting married in September as well. I’ve done everything myself.  You could have a potluck type thing after the ceremony.  I think that’d be cool. You could do mini dessert bar type of thing. Like little tea cakes and stuff.  You can definitely do this very cost effectively.  I’m doing my own place cards, programs, invitations.  I’ve decided to name all the tables after characters from Cinderlla.  I bought some cream colored index cards, some printable lables, and cheap plastic frames,  I’m going to spray paint them gold and put the cards in them. Whole thing cost 30 bucks
