- Wedding: May 2014
Ok, so long story short, we had a big wedding planned, but due to some family drama, we cancelled the big wedding, lost our deposit on the venue but saved ourselves from lots of headaches. So now we have decided to have a small and very simple wedding. I still have my dress which I got for our original date, and it still fits like it was made for me, so I have every intention of wearing this dress that day. We have found a local venue that does “elopements” and it looks awesome. Just waiting to hear back that our date is definitely available, we are going to look at it this weekend, and then we will put the deposit down for the date. Due to the location, we can only have a few people come, which is perfectly fine. Then our plan was to go out to eat with those who attended the ceremony (my parents have offered to pay for this part), which will be about 10 people including us. After dinner, my parents will be taking my son for the night and we are hopefully getting a limo and just going to enjoy a night out on the town all dressed up (and want the limo so neither of us get into any trouble driving that night). because of the simpleness of our day, there are very few things that we would need to do.
Ok, so here is where I need the recommendations. The restaurant I have been in contact with for dinner will allow us to bring a cake, we want to do a rose ceremony with our moms and i need to get myself a bouquet. We are not looking to spend a fortune on any of this, so was thinking about using a local grocery store for the cake and flowers. Has anyone had experience with using Stop and Shop or similar for cake and flowers?
