Well, FI and I were planning a wedding for October 2014 when baby H decided to come into our lives a little early…due July 12.
We have managed to convert ALL of our vendors to March 1…of this year…in 33 days. We had to move from the Catholic church to a smaller nondenominational historical church and hire a minister, but so be it.
Waiting to hear a 100% yes from the photographer (don’t get me started on this mess..) and waiting for my dress to come in. The salon told me that it should arrive this week or next and that they guarantee they will make it fit in time.
We ordered bridesmaids dresses on sale from Ann Taylor today. They’ll be here this week.
It’s our dream venue. I have the perfect FI, the perfect dress and am trying to get excited for this wedding but I am so worried the dress won’t fit and that everything won’t get done and fall into place. Invites haven’t gone out yet but we have called family/friends and made them aware of the date.
Send some positive energy into the universe for this mama, daddy and baby!
Ps. thinking of having the gender revealed to us at the wedding!

Good luck!!! I don’t think I could do it, but it sounds like everything is working out for you 🙂

I don’t think we can do it….there is NO way my dress will fit. It’s not even in yet. It was due to be shipped Jan 7 and it’s Jan 26 and nothing. The salon owner said they have been running behind a few weeks and that she would contact the manufacturer Monday. I don’t know what we will do if it doesn’t fit. They said they can try to order extra fabric, add a panel, and attempt to convert to a corset back.
I’m so nervous. 🙁

Worst case scenario – you end up getting a new flowy dress… cute story to tell your kid in a few years ‘mummy got this dress specially because you needed more room’
and you could either sell the first dress, or keep it for a vow renewal in a few years!
Good luck, and congratulations!!! xx

@somersetdarling: Where would I get a dress with less than 5 weeks to go? I am just in a state of panic…I know that there’s really nothing I can do to get that dress here and to fit but sitting idle is killing me. I want to drive to the factory (…think it’s in China…problematic) and pick it up and have it in my paws. I wouldn’t doubt that they could make it fit if it was already here…if it takes 2 more weeks, how can these alterations be done so fast?

@pierce8: if it’s a good seamstress, alterations can be done within a few days. You may have to be flexible with your schedule for fittings, but it’s definitely doable. Also if you need another dress, DB sells off the rack. Not perfect, but it’s there if you need it. Also Nordstroms and Macy’s have off the rack.

@pierce8: You can do it! There is already so much stuff taken care off, i am sure everything will work out with the dress (or worst case scenario SOME dress) as well.

@tksjewelry: that is what the salon owner said. she said she wouldnt get me fitted more than 2 weeks before the wedding anyways because who knows when belly would pop out.
it’s so hard being positive! i know that everything else has worked out but i just have horrible visions of being at the salon at 11pm 2 days before the wedding being shoved into a dress that is 3 sizes too small.
thanks for the well wishes, bees

@jadlnc: waiting for my dumb photographer to send a revised contract out on monday so we can be 100%. we have started calling family and telling them the date. our venue doesnt need the final count until 3 days before so we have a little bit of time.
photographer said 2 days ago that she had every weekend in march available. yesterday she said she will double check her calendar and send a contract on monday….COME ON LADY! i needed this contract days ago!
IT IS WHAT IT IS. i have my family, my husband to be, my baby and my health.

oh wow! Our best man and his wife planned their wedding in 2 weeks
David’s will get you a dress in less than 5 weeks. You can even buy off the rack there too. Our best man’s wife walked in and left later that day with a dress complete with alterations! It can be done!
best of luck! 🙂

@pierce8: Amazon and Zappos have wedding gowns that will ship SUPER FAST. Zappos has free next business day shipping if you order before 1pm PST.
They have Nicole Miller, Badgley Mishka, Tadashi Shoji, Erin Fetherston, Zac Posen, et. al. so I’m sure you can find something and have it altered in time.
I went wedding dress shopping with my girlfriend yesterday, and she ended up getting a blush dress from Nordstrom which will be completely altered and ready for her Feb. 1st. She didn’t pay extra for any rush.

Well, bees, at 17 weeks my dress still zipped which the seamstress said is a good sign. She has no doubts that she will be able to make it fit. I go in in 2 weeks for a fitting and to get it sized.
Everything else is falling into place and I am just worried this won’t. We have our photographer, florist, hall, church, minister, music, DJ, limo, invites out, linens rented.
