I am a native New Yorker but currently my partner and I are living in Singapore for work related purposes. We have been together 5 years and with the overturning of DOMA (we are a same-sex couple) we are finally able to be legally married.
We have many friends and family based in NYC, Singapore and parts of Europe so, many of our guests will be flying in for our wedding so obviously, I am concerned about their accomodations. Our wedding date is set as December, 13 2014 and will not be changed as we have already taken time off and I would also like to coincide my wedding with spending Christmas and New Years with my family as I haven’t been home for the holidays in two years.
I am having 70 people and would like an easy package for someone who is overseas, all-inclusive (3 course sit down dinner, open bar, ceremony, cocktail hour), intimatie but really chic NYC style. Our budget is between $15k and $18k for our wedding and I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions of either an amazing hotel venue or a loft style/penthouse venue. My biggest concern is the drinks as my family and friends love to party! My fiance’s biggest concern is views, she is all about amazing views.
Any suggestions of a hassle free way to plan this? I will be flying back in June 2014 to finalize all details but we would like to put a deposit down on a venue and send out invitations early since we have so many overseas guests.

@JoannaNNYC: So we’re using Moran’s as catering, but you can also do a wedding there. A coworker got married there and the guy who runs the show, Tom is AMAZING. It’s small and cozy and you can do everything right at the restaurant There isn’t an incredible view from the venue, but the Highline is literally right there.
Because your number of guests is so small you might be able to really make your budget work! Have you looked at Battery Gardens as well? The view there is INCREDIBLE. I’m not sure of the pricing but did attend a wedding there and it really is amazing. Some other options might be:
The Foundry in LIC

@JoannaNNYC: We got married at Manhattan Penthouse like an OP suggested. But we had more guests than you will. They have another venue called Alger house which I would have loved but we had too many guests.
MP was spectacular for us though and at your # of guests should fit your budget.
You can see a few pictures from our venue here:
ETA we had butlered appetizers, open/top shelf bar and a 3 course meal & desserts.

You could also try 90 Horatio. The catering is done by the Upper Crust. I was in love with the venue, but we had too many people. You should be fine though with uner 100!
