- Wedding: September 2013
So the wedding is actually over. I was over whelmed. I started this blog because I wanted to write down everything in an attempt to share my experience and remember it later as well. However, I ended up just not having time to do it on top of everything else but I have decide to recap the planning experience and make my way through the wedding. So here we go!
I was never one of those girls who’s goal in life was to get married. I never dreamed about my wedding day, or the perfect dress, or flowers. When we got engaged (check out our proposal story) I of course called family and enjoyed the rest of our Disney vacation, but like most girls when I got home I ordered a wedding binder, signed up for a bridal subscription, and started searching blog world!
I knew we wouldn’t have I large budget so had to have that in consideration while trying to decide our wedding aesthetic. The one thing I did know was who I wanted to be my bridesmaids and that I wanted to have our wedding on the ranch I grew up on in Texas. I immediately oked with bridesmaids having the wedding in Texas to which no one had any problems because I was able to give them all 1 year and 9 months notice! After searching through pictures I decided to go with a rustic look which is popular currently and worked out wonderfully for us as it meant things would be cheaper. We could just let the ranch be itself instead of trying to turn it into something it wasn’t.
I made sure to schedule some engagement photos (blog here) immediately so that I could get out save the dates quickly. I had been searching etsy and fell in love with nostalgic imprints designs; I have a thing for polaroids and vintagey things so these were perfect and thankfully Hubby to be loved them too!
After getting those things done I had a lot of time to plan and pin and bookmark things to buy, but I’ll talk about that in the next post. More to come!
