I have 3.5 inch heels to wear for my wedding but would like to have some “back up” shoes in case my feet start killing me. I’ve been looking at platform flip flops for this purpose. Does anyone have experience wearing these? I’m wondering how comfortable they are and whether or not they stay on your feet. I definitely don’t want my shoes to be falling off or be tripping over myself!
any input is welcome!!

Are you having a beach wedding? If so, you might be able to get away with these.
Honestly, flip flops and dancing don’t seem like a good idea… add the wedge to it, you have a recipe for a broken ankle!

@cestvrai: I wore wedged flip flops after the ceremony. I was very comfortable. No problems dancing. I wear this type of shoe all the time in the summer, so for me, they were perfect.
Seriously, in my opinion, no one cared about my shoe choices. I spent $ 7.00 on a pair of shoes, on clearance, for my wedding shoes! They were perfect for me.
I saved money on the “wedding flip flops” by blinging them out myself. I bought a pair from a local store, wrapped the tops in a white satin ribbon and added a pretty bow I made out of tulle and a cute pink flower. They probably cost me $10.00.

@canarydiamond: nope, not a beach wedding. Just looking for a back up option that will be comfortable and affordable. But like you mentioned, I’m worried about rolling an ankle or something! Also considering Toms wedges, but they are pretty pricy

I bought these
Flip flops with wedges aren’t a big deal to me because I wear them often.. I find them pretty comfortable, but in the summer I wear flip flops ALL THE TIME.
If you are used to wearing them, dancing in them isn’t a huge deal, and unless you’re doing some super crazy dance moves.. they won’t fly off.

You may be wanting some height and in that case I don’t think wedge flip flops are bad. I actually think they are plenty cute and most likely no one will see them anyway. But if you’re concerned with dancing safely, I think flip flops with the back little buckle straps are cute!

If you get a pair that are snug, they should be fine. Wedge flip flops are super comfortable. I used to wear them all the time in high school.

@cestvrai: The funny thing is I wear flip flops all the time… I LOVE THEM… I still do sometimes end up falling out of them just while walking. I am clumsy, though 😀

I wore regular flip flops and wish I had gotten some with some height as I stepped all over my dress and tripped on it all night after taking my shoes off. Doesn’t hurt to try them out!

@cestvrai: My mom wore some very similar at her wedding. I think they are great!

@cestvrai: My sister wore platform Rocket Dog flip flops at her reception. Her feet were about the only thing that were still okay by the end of the night – poor thing had a horrendously heavy gown at an outdoor event in the middle of a heat wave.

Thank you all for your comments!! I guess I should go and try some on since I have never worn them before!
