Just playing... we haven't picked a date or anything yet, but my roommate is out of town and I'm just chilling, watching season 2 of Mad Men, playing around with fonts :)

    Whadda ya think?

i like it but i suggest under Save the Date adding "for the marriage of your name/his name"

reason being STD's are relatively new and really, some guys (single guys youre mailinig to) and older folks dont get it

    otherwise i like it!

btw, i like having the extended date - i think its nicer this way

    :)

yeah, I toyed with "Save the Date" or "Invitations to follow" but I feel like both are kind of ... stuffy. We're not really a formal kind of couple, and I suspect our whole wedding is going to have a more playful, romance-y feel to it, less formal. Is there another option for indicating that these are just STDs, not invites?

For something more playful, what about "He asked, She said yes, So save the date, And don't be late, for when they say 'I Do'"?

    P.S. I LOVE Mad Men!

I really like the design, very simple but fun

I really like that format - it's awesome! I'm not so sure I like the font at the bottom - it just seems off to me. Maybe one that is thicker and less italiscized would work better? Again - just my two cents - I like the informal attitude of them and their simplicity overall.

Ohh, that's really fun! I agree with adding your names, though.

Ps....am I the only immature one that totally read the title in a different context; giggling in an embarassed fashion after realizing what STD stood for in this case?

    I love your design.

fiya - no, you're not the only one.  Every time I see or type STD I have to catch myself and remember that I'm looking at wedding stuff!  What is even worse is my work email address ends with std.com and every time I have to tell someone the address, I cringe as I'm saying it.

hehe... yeah, the acronym game got me for a while too, @fiya :)

For the record, on the real thing, our names go up the side, where it says "HisFirst HisLast : HerFirst HerLast" on the sample BUT I'm majorly paranoid and not comfortable putting us on the internet in such a fashion, haha.

I'm not super thrilled with anything about the "Save the Date" phrasing or font on the first version. What do you think of this... (using @PurdueGrace's suggestion)

Oh, and I should probably give credit to my inspiration ~ @Samisomsam on this thread http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/funnyquirky-save-the-date-wording-any-ideas-or-suggestions got me thinking me with her wording. :)

I put formal invitation to follow on the bottom of mine so people realized this wasn't the actual invitation, and I also included our wedding website.  Just a thought, but they look great!!

That's totally cute, @crebre80! I'll probably end up designing all my paper goods myself (I love document design, hehe), but inspiration is nice :)

I love it... so cute and I LOVE your font choice!

Would you hate me if I said I thought moving the names to the other side might flow better, because then you're reading the whole page and then, the names? I dont know... maybe I'm being picky!

    @cinemaparadiso - I don't hate anyone who makes suggestions :)

I'll have to try playing around with the names on both sides. Thanks!

Those are adorable! I might play with the wording a little bit... the cadence keeps throwing me off but I might just be nit picking. English degrees do that. But I love the feel!
