Sigh. I’m supposed to hear back from the company that I had a second interview with, hopefully this week. My interview with them was November 20th. I asked when they would likely make a decision. She said probably around Thanksgiving and they would want someone to start early December.
Well tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I still have not heard anything. 🙁
And I have another job possibility. My cousin works for a staffing agency and she introduced me to the coordinator. This coordinator had me take online assessment tests and send her my resume, all last week. She then forwarded my resume and test scores to a local company that is hiring.
So yesterday, the coordinator calls me at 9:30 in the morning. I was asleep so I missed her call. But…she didn’t leave a voicemail. So I have no idea what she was calling about. And I called her back, she didn’t pick up. So I left her a voicemail.
And now I’m really anxious because what if she was calling to tell me that the company wants me to come in for an interview?? But she didn’t leave me a voicemail so I don’t know! And she hasn’t returned my call yet!
Grrr! I’m just so frustrated. I’ve been unemployed since October 15th and I still don’t have a job…and my unemployment benefits won’t last much longer.
I’m getting really anxious…I need to start making money soon! My apartment lease expires January 31st so I have until then to figure out where I’m going to live. And I need a job!
I just wish my phone would hurry up and ring! Call and let me know if I got hired. Call and let me know if I need to come in for an interview. JUST LET ME KNOW SOMETHING!!

@LadyBlackheart: Ugh that’s the worst. Don’t be afraid to send a follow-up email, wish them happy holidays, etc.
I know you said you already left a voicemail so there isn’t much you can do, but sending an email is harmless and it doesn’t put them on the spot to answer right away.

@LadyBlackheart: Keeping my fingers crossed for you 🙂 (But yes, waiting to hear back sucks lol)

@ValerieBee03: I thought about that but what would I say in the email? “You called me yesterday and I returned your call. What were you calling about?”
I can’t figure out how to word it without sounding annoying :p
@housebee: Thanks! And yes, waiting to hear back really, really sucks. I’m driving my poor SO crazy about it lol.

@LadyBlackheart: Sending good thoughts your way! Honestly though, don’t get your hopes up about getting a call from that first company by the end of today. While it would be nice, don’t forget they most likely have a lot of things to do before the holiday weekend and calling you probably isn’t their top priority right now. I’d say wait until next Tuesday to followup if you haven’t heard anything. I’m sure Monday will be a busy catch-up day for most people.
I agree the waiting game is the worst! When I was waiting to hear back about a job, I was constantly checking my phone and would get really upset when Friday afternoon came around and I still hadn’t heard anything. It was horrible knowing I had to wait the whole weekend without a word and then start my obsessive phone checking again on Monday.
Once again, GOOD LUCK and I really hope you get that job offer today! It sure would make for an awesome Thanksgiving! 🙂

Thanks for the good thoughts ladies but unfortunately, no one called me today. Sigh. So I guess it will be Monday at the earliest before I find out anything.

Thanks guys! I’m still waiting, unfortunately…but I’m thinking about sending a followup email today. I just want to know something either way! The suspense is killing me.
