- Wedding: June 2013
Looking for some input on my Out of Town bag ideas. I have several dilemmas and concerns – so please read below before voting and give me your suggestions. I’ve attached pics below too. 🙂 Thanks!
So we are currently living in Israel, but getting married in Malibu, California and I’m trying to represent the two places in a themed bag.
Here are the things I’m thinking of putting in:
-“California Mix” of almonds, raisins, pistachios, walnuts, chocolate chips
-MALIBU Rum chocolates
-Olive and Honey lotion with Dead Sea Minerals from the Holy Land
-Water and Advil (maybe bandaids?)
Is this enough? We will also include a personal note thanking guests for traveling to our wedding. Not including maps or suggestions on what to do since that info is on the website, plus most guests have been to LA before multiple times.
Now another question – I have 2 bag options and can’t for the life of me choose between them. One is a canvas tote with palm trees that looks a lot like the palm trees we had on our invitation and fits the Malibu AND Israel theme! It’s a normal size tote that’s probably too big for all the little things in it. Is it weird?
The other is a solid color bag that has a zipper, outer pocket, and is a cooler inside. I think the second bag is super practical, but am afraid it might be a little small to fit everything in – it is only 9.5×7.5 inches. If we put 2 bottles of water in for a couple, it might get tight, no? What do you think?
LAST question – our guests will be spread out across town at various hotels and other friends’ houses. We are getting married on July 6th, so to get the bags out to people coming on the 5th, we’d have to drive all over LA on Fourth of July… errr… no thank you. So….
We are also having a rehearsal LUNCH on Friday afternoon July 5th. Would it be a big no-no to hand out the bags to them at the lunch so guest can enjoy them later in their hotel that evening? Yes, some guests will only be coming in that afternoon and won’t come to the lunch. So for those few we will figure out how to get their bags to them. But is it bad etiquette to hand out the rest at the rehearsal lunch?
Thanks, Bees! Looking forward to your suggestions.
