House guests are so stressful! Good luck! You can totally handle it!

@ElbieKay:  There’s an old saying “Dead fish and houseguests both start to stink in three days.”

I try to remember that when I am a houseguest.

How long have they been there already?  Hopefully you can find some private time.  Sometimes I find I just need an hour or two alone or just with DH to recharge before going back into host mode.

@ElbieKay:  That is a long time, even if it’s your best friend or family.  You’re more than halfway through though!

@ElbieKay:  At least it’s half over now.  I’d probably have a hard time holding my tongue around a guy that disrespected his wife, so I could definitely see it getting old.  *HUGS* hopefully the time will go by and you will have your house to yourself again.

@ElbieKay:  No! I hate that. If you are coming for the destination (rather than visiting friends), then those friends with whom you are staying are/should be under no obligation to entertain you. Can you say you’ve already got plans and go out with a girlfriend? You totally deserve it!

@ElbieKay:  Well, at least that’s…better. Mostly, our house guests are my in-laws, and while I love them, I get pretty frustrated when they are here more than 4 or 5 days. Luckily, they usually come for long weekends, but after DS was born, they stayed for 8 days!! It was killer. My whole world was already crazy, and then they added to it. But they are sweet…so I probably just need to calm down about it, haha. Venting is good!
