I don’t like the photos. She doesn’t know how to do lighting correctly, and the retouching is not good. The flash is very harsh in some photos, and some photos have a blue underone, some are dull, etc.

I would keep looking. You can also submit your request to fearlessphotographers.com

There are a lot of photographers in the Chicago Area http://www.fearlessphotographers.com/location/236/chicago-il

jenilynevette:  I’m not a fan of this style. The lighting and editing isn’t up-to-date or done well. For $2,000, I think you can do better. I’m missing the wedding location part of WB right now, but if you’re in Chicago, I’ll do some hunting around to see if I can find something for ya!

Yeah sorry, I agree.  It’s a pretty good deal for $2000, but so many of her photos are way too bright with the flash.  Basically all the indoor / artificial lighting ones don’t look that great.

If that’s the best you can find for $2000, it wouldn’t be awful – but personally I’d rather have one photographer with better quality photos, than 2 shooters and an album…

jenilynevette:

http://www.barryphippsphotography.com/category/wedding is $400/hr.

http://rojofotodesign.com/category/weddings/  is $2,500 for two photographers and an engagement session.

http://www.kevinmonahanphotography.com/main.php#!/portfolio is only available Fri & Sunday but is about $1800-2000. Located in Indy, but has shot in Chicago.

http://artistrieco.com/portfolio/weddings/  starts at $3,200

I found most of these by Googling a random Chicago venue and then “wedding photography.” It’ll take you to photography blogs from that particular venue, which seems to be quicker than “Chicago wedding photographer,” which will bring you the highest rated photogs on Google (read: most expensive! haha)

jenilynevette:  I would say no, it’s not a good deal. It’s pretty mediocre photography, and while sure I guess for the price and amount of coverage included it’s okay – you get what you pay for. That being said, if 2k is your budget I’d rather spend it on a more talented photographer for less hours. Image quality aside, at that price point, you’re not getting a quality professional album – so I personally feel like you’re wasting your money and the album isn’t a selling feature then.
