    Hi Ladies,

    I need flat-out honest opinions.

I bought the most amazing pairs of shoes for my wedding BEFORE I bought my dress.  They are Chinese Laundry's "Jemmy" - Ivory, open-toe, with a cute knoted bow at the toe.  Lovely.

I fully intended to get them dyed to a pretty purple colour and have just found out that because the shoe isn't actually satin (the shoe guy thinks it could be nylon), he can't guarantee a good colour and will not attempt it in case he ruins the shoe and have an angry customer.

The shoe, on its own, is ivory and pretty.  Against my dress, it looks too yellow and drab.

Help: Will ANYONE notice the colour of my shoes (I KNOW my shoes will be seen somehow) and, does it even matter?

Here is a picture of my shoe against my dress.

I personally think yeah, they are too ivory. But that's a personal opinion - if you like them, go for it! I know that my dress is long enough that people are only going to see my shoes during the garter toss, and if I take them off (which I will!)

They look gold to me, not ivory :D... I would have just assumed you'd decided to wear gold shoes!  but if you wanted a closer match, that's not the shoe to do it with. GL!

I don't think anyone will notice the shoes. They are close enough!

From the picture, they look more gold than yellow.  I don't think anyone will even notice your shoes unless you hike up your dress and show them :), but will you be paranoid about it?

They look like a creamy beigey gold. If that's one of your wedding colors, go for it. If not, maybe just attempt dying?

I definitely don't think so.  My gown was a soft white/ivory, and my ceremony shoes were champagne, so there was a similar color contrast to what you pictured above!

I would dye it a richer champagne.  They are pretty!

It looks intentional rather than unmatched.  Like you wanted a pop of gold/champagne peeking out.  Very cute.

Oh my gosh, it's fine, hun :) I definitely think this is a case of being overly critical of the situation (which, believe me, I've been guilty of this at some point, too). As long as the shoes are in the same realm, which they are, they'll be fine. No one will notice, and if they DO see your shoes, I'll guarantee their first thought will be, "Wow, cute shoes," not "Oh my gosh, the ivory is slightly off!"

They're lovely, as you said, and I see nothing wrong with the color.

I wore the exact same shade of shoes and dress...I loved it!  I think it looks fine(and seriously, three people will look at your feet)--go with them!

If you love the shoes still, you should wear them!  No one will notice cause I'm sure your dress will cover it!  Those shoes are cute and will be great "details" pictures from the photographer!

I think they are beautiful and no one will even notice, unless you are pointing it out to them... Perfect match, no.  But you are the only person it would ever bug...

They look great!  Who cares if they aren't a perfect ivory?  I like the way it looks AND like the others said, nobody will notice anyway.

I have never ever ever ever noticed a bride's shoes before, and I've been to many weddings.  That said, from a bride-to-be's perspective, I can see where you are coming from.  I personally like the shoe the way it is.  I don't know how a purple color would come out dyed onto ivory/gold nylon...  Undecided

Okay, settled!  I will keep the shoes as they are and continue to love them in their gold-y goodness.  Thank you so much for your supportive comments, I very much appreciate it!

personally they do look too ivory but who is really going to see your shoes or notice anyway. if you like them and it doesn't bother you use them anyway or talk to another shoe guy about dyeing them

I don't think anyone will notice, but if you won't be totally happy with the two colors being different, I'd say dye 'em!

I got similar looking shoes through Dyables.  They were great because I had the bridal salon dye them to match the color of my dress.

I think they will be FINE! No doubt the lighting will be dim/ wonky wherever you are, and really... people look at the bride's shoes, yes, but ultimately don't notice the color unless they're *bright*... so a tone difference will make no difference at all. Relax and enjoy the fact that your shoes are comfy!

I don't think so.  I don't think anyone will notice!  and I bet you won't either once you get into the groove of things. :)
