Hi girls!
I got my dress back after my final fitting today. It's the WTOO Mimi. My alterations lady said the flower 'makes' the dress. I think it looks gorgeous, but now that I have dress back I think it makes me look... 'big'. I feel it cuts off the outline of my waist in a way. I'm not sure whether the cute factor of the flower makes up for the fact that it makes me look larger than I am.
I don't know how you girls take good mirror shots of yourself, I couldn't for the life of me! So I've posted a picture of the back, a picture of the bottom, and a couple pictures with the flower and some without... please help me decide!
Wear the flower, or remove it? It's totally detachable.
No flower! It looks awkward, because its such a strange shape. The dress looks so pretty without it, it really defines your waist.
Your dress looks amazing either way! Congrats :) you'll be a stunning bride.
The dress is really pretty without the flower, and very simple. The flower adds that little extra quirk, but it is kind of a bit over the top, and as you said draws away from your beautiful waist.
Would there be any way of reducing the size of the flower? I think the extra little decoration really makes it unique :)
I'm sure you'll look fantastic no matter what you choose.
The dress is much more eye catching without it. If you want a flower somewhere put some real ones in your hair! Lovely dress!!!
I love the flower but like pp's have said it is to big. Can you replace it with a smaller flower?
I love the flower on the Mimi, I just think it needs to be repositioned on you. It should be a little more off the side. You look great in it either way, I but I voted to keep the flower. Best of luck!
I'm not really a fan of the flower...I feel like it distracts from the dress--and your tiny little waist!
I voted for the flower. The dress is beatiful, but for me it's a little bit too plain without the flower. You could always modify the shape of the flower you have or purchase another one that is smaller.
i love the dress without it! it hides your little waist! but if you think it's too plain, maybe you can find an appropriate sash!
I am wearing this dress and not wearing the flower : ) I like plain and felt like the flower added unncessary bulk. If I want, I might throw it on late in the reception but otherwise I don't feel it's flattering on me. If I was going to do anything I'd probably find a belt or something? But I don't think it's needed!
I like it much better without the flower. It's not that I wouldn't like something at the waist (although it looks good without), but I think that flower looks kind of strange. The shape and size of it just doesn't go!
I agree, the flower is an awkward shape...if it was smaller and a little more rounded i would like it more, but because of the shape it falls too low. I would go without it or find another flower to put on the dress. Or maybe find a flower that is the same color as your bridesmaids or color theme...the dress looks beautiful though :)
I voted no flower. The dress is much more flattering when the flower isn't hiding your shape!
No flower. It takes away from your tiny waist.
Maybe a fun sparkly brooch or something instead?
Sooooo much better without, what a gorgeous dress. It looks fantabulous on yoU!
I say flower, but a different flower. That one just seems to be odd, for whatever reason. If you could find a round fabric flower, or maybe even an oversized rhinestone flower brooch, that would be really nice.
BTW you really rock that dress, you look beautiful! great choice!!
Definitely flower but a diff flower. A clister of smaller flowers would look great.
i definitely think no flower is way better... it leaves your silhouette looking much prettier and the dress much more classic and gorgeous... i think the flower looks like a last-minute addition that you picked off the shelf to go with that dress... i don't think it looks like it's supposed to be there at all... that dress is just beautiful! i wouldn't hide it with the enormous flower...
@lefeymw:I'm with you on this one.
You rock the hell outta' that dress, but that flower is a bit "off".
Thanks for all your help girls!!! I just couldn't trust my opinion alone on this.
HUGE help!
@bananejaune:I bought the Watters Mojave dress (very similar shape) and I have the same decision to make.
I kind of like the simple front because it accents how small your waist is. What about putting the flower on your back to add some "wow" since your back is to the guests most of the weddng?

none for ceremony, and flower for reception! (it adds a lot of fun) :)
I think the flower is a little too big, but I would like to see your dress with a smaller flower or some kind of pretty sash around the waist
I would look at the model photo on the WToo website. I think the flower is supposed to be a bit more centered, not on the hip.
With that thick band, I would keep the flower or go with another flower or sash. The band alone is a little unfinished looking.
I wore that dress and kept the flower. Like your seamstress (who sees lots of dresses) I thought the flower really made the dress too. And I don't think the flower is too big--I kinda trust the designer is an expert on proportion for the dress and the band. My photo is attached.
Whichever you decide, enjoy the dress--it looks beautiful on you!
I like it better without.
cesira17 had a great idea, putting it on the back would look fabulous!
I was going to suggest the same thing @cesira17 did - can you try it in the back? I love the dress, by the way, it's gorgeous and suits you really well!
I am wearing the Mimi in April!! :) I swapped the flower out for a floral sash with swarovski crystals on it. I love the waistband plain as well.
take it off and wear a long cascadeing pearl necklace so it doesnlt look too plain
I'm wearing the Mimi in June! My plan is to have no flower for the ceremony, since I'll be holding a bouquet. Then I'll bustle and add the flower for the reception for a slight change of looks.
I tried Mimi on at a couple different places, and a couple girls really didn't know how to put the flower on correctly. The girl that I bought my dress from does it perfectly, and it makes a big difference!
Either way, the dress is amazing. But I say if you can't decide, go with both options like me!
