So, the fiance and I want deep navy with splashes of fuchsia for the girls, I would like black tuxes with fuchsia ties for the men. My mom and sisters think the navy and black are too close next to each other. Should I do grey tux? THoughts? Any pics to share?

Our colors were navy and fuschia, I also hear lots of concerns about the navy and black not looking right together, but it was fine. We did not do fuschia ties, their bouts had a bit of pink but that was it, but here are some pics anyways that just show that the navy vest with a black tux work fine together.

I think it looks beautiful in the picture above. Though i think those dresses are more of a dark cobalt than a navy (might just be my computer though)

@Wonderstruck: That looks more royal blue than navy. But it looks really good either way!

I think navy and black are okay together, but it depends on the shade of navy. The reason why I think navy and black are usually not done together is because people pick too dark of a navy and then it looks like they made a mistake and thought the blue was black. Like what @Wonderstruck posted, when it is more of a royal blue with black (and NOT in a dark/dimly lit room), it looks fine together.

It depends a lot on the lighting too…indoors they definitely looked navy, so keep that in mind too when picking a shade!
