@delmel1:  Gosh, I even tried the google image search I learned from that Catfish documentary and I can’t locate these dresses anywhere but those tumblr pages!

I am very sorry… but I wanted to say both are really quite incredible.

@delmel1:  right?!

Okay so when you go to the “images” section of Google.com there is a camera in the field where you type your search… if you click that camera you can upload a photo to the search and Google will search the internet for ANY websites that photo is present on.

It will also show you visually SIMILAR photos to the one you upload.

Its the coolest thing ever!

I searched some of my own engagement photos and found them in places I didn’t even realize (i.e. a cousin’s twitter account!)

Try it! Its seriously amazing!

@delmel1:  When you are google searching images, the majority of your results will be tumblr and pinterest.

The easiest way to narrow those down (They will likely never take you to the source. I absolutely despise both websites for this fact) you’ll want to remove tumblr and pinterest from your search query.

to do this, when you’re searching for something (anything, really), type -tumblr -pinterest (No quotes. You can do it with anything. The minus will make google not show you the results that contain tumblr or pinterest links)

By removing those two sources, I was able to find the dress on a blog. In the comments, the blogger quoted her source.

It definitely takes a little investigative work. Which leads me to this:

Anyone aspiring to be a blogger, quote an original source for your images. Pinterest and Tumblr are not original sources.

The first dress appears to be by an Australian designer named J’Aton – the original person who posted it on Tumblr has that designers name tagged on it. Looks like they’re typically pretty expensive and often custom/couture.

Here’s a pin of the full dress:

@delmel1:  You’re welcome, and good luck with your search! Never a bad idea to take these pictures with you to a bridal salon – even if you know they won’t have that exact one or if it’s our of your budget, it can give them a good idea of the style you’re after.

So has anyone found out the designer of the ballgown up there? My cousin just got engaged and she asked me to look into it. The salon looks like it could be Kleinfelds? I’m not sure, all I know is that the aliexpress and other wholesale sites aren’t offering the real deal, I’m sure if I can find the original designer I can convince her to go for something more realistic. I didn’t want to make a seperate post after I found this one, but I wonder if anyone’s had any progress?
