If the Hive can't help, go back and demand she tell you. Cutting tags is illegal. Also, your friend should definitely report the shop to the BBB and post plenty of reviews about them so other brides can avoid them.

Hey Ladies-
My friend is getting married and she fell in LOVE with this dress. She did not have a great experience at the store she found it at, so she wants to get it somewhere else. The store she found it at cuts all the tags out of the dresses and wont tell you who makes it until you put your deposit down.
If anyone has seen this dress, please let me know who makes it.
