I voted #2.  The first one looks a little dated to me…I think it has to do with the heaviness of the flourish.  I’m more partial to the daintiness of the flourish in the 2nd one.

First one. There’s something about the second one i dont like, a bit too simple + how the swirls fan out, Idk..

I like the floral vector from the second one. And the font from the first one, but the script fond would be better in Burgues. Such as the example below.

In terms of a formal event, I reckon the first looks more formal than the second. Both are really pretty though, so you can’t go wrong.

@SimonSaysBride:  I prefer the 1st one for the occasion you mentioned. the 2nd one to me is too playful.

Also, I love the size format of your second invitation option.  It reminds me of this invitation below by tiypografica letterpress.

The first one reminds me of damask patterns.

The second one is more delicate.

Formality is all in the wording of your invite, I think. Design has some weight, but not all.

Love the second one!  Would you mind telling me where it’s from?

@SimonSaysBride:  I’ve been browsing Wedding Paper Divas – don’t know how I missed that invite! My colors are blush and slate grey/blue/purple, so I’m thinking a light peachy-pink background with slate colored text and design.  We’re having a formal wedding, but it’s in a botanic garden so also has a very natural feel.
