We finally got some proofs of our engagement pictures so I could plug them into my DIY save the date template. I can’t decide which layout/collage pictures are best, so let me know what you like/dislike/suggest!

PS. The “MB” is the photographer’s mark, obviously they won’t be on the final photos. 🙂

I like #1, it is much simpler than the rest. But they all look great!

I like #1, and second choice #4. It looks a little cleaner when they are symmetrical! They all look great though.
Good luck 🙂

I also like #1 the best!!

You asked, so I will share! You asked for suggestions as well as our favorite, so I’m going to be honest and say that I think there a few small things about your temlpate (which I love, btw!) that you could tweak to take your Save-The-Date Cards from Bake Sale flyer to professionally designed Save the Date announcement. I think that having the word “the” and the word “and” slanted, but in different ways and not uniformly is too much. I think you should leave the “and” between your names the way it is, it looks interesting and old-timey. But the purpley swirled “the” in Save the Date looks too MS Word Art to me, and I think would look more professional and grown up just being in the same font as “Save” and “Date”. That being said, I like the photo layouts of #1 and #4, but think that the pictures in color pop so much more than the black and white pictures, I think because of the cobalt blue font you used. If you have the same pictures available in color I would suggest using them.
Now I hope this helps and that you doin’t think I’m a nasty biotch =)
Either way, I’m sure your Save-The-Date Cards will be well received because they really are gorgeous, and the world at large is not as picky/detail minded as us bees.
ps — your e-pics are beautiful! I especially love the vivid color picture of you two kissing in front of a tree and the one of him ksising you that looks like it was taken from overhead in #3.

@TheGirlinBlue: Totally not offended. In fact, the “the” always bugged me, I originally had it designed like in the one below (this was also the original font and background color, considering going back to it so if you have an opinion let me know), but Fiance liked it better the other way. Also, we will have a color, b&w, and filter option on every photo once the final ones come in. These are just the untouched favorites so far–he randomly threw some in b&w, some with filter, etc.

The main thing I don’t like is the coloring–that off-pink color is weird to me and I’m not fond of the blue or purple either–they seem to be competing with the style rather than inhancing it.
If you want a non-b/w background then I’d go with a cream. I think the first picture is wonderful–great coloring as well!, but the black edging throws off the balance–though I prefer it to the multi-picture options.
What about something like this?
That would be very simple to rig up, has a similar feel, but looks more balanced

The cactus picture makes me nervous! 🙂
I like the third one… it tells the story of your engagement and makes me feel like I was there! I actually really like the layout of the first one, but a full on kiss is a little mushy for me! Not that there’s anything wrong with it… I’m just silly I suppose.

@ck_stella16: I like #1! Not only is it charming but it also serves its function well to clearly state the date and where, which is what people need to know and easily recall. The other options are lovely and your photos are so very sweet but I think, with more than one photo in the current layout, the date gets a little lost in them. I like TheGirlinBlue‘s suggestion regarding the word “the” to bring the design up a notch all around.
P.S. I’m in Sonoma County, too, and am happy to help recommend/discuss local vendors if you like. Best wishes to you!

These are so wonderful!! I like being able to focus on just ONE picture of the two of you, instead of having to split my focus amongst the other pictures.
So cute! : )

Yep, totally agreeing with everyone’s comments about having the balanced nature of #1. I think it’s definitely a personal preference, but I tend to like the cleanliness better than multi-picture formats, although I do appreciate the storytelling nature of the multi-pictures.
@kala_way: The backgrounds are supposed to be a cream/tan, I do see how it’s reading a little pinkish on here…in fact all the colors are reading a little…umm…”cheap”? (I figure it’s OK to say it b/c it’s my own design, LOL).
Here’s my most recent version, decided to go very simple, very clean in terms of lines and colors:
