Both are lovely locations and are very similar. I chose St. Thomas only because I know that's where they filmed the movie "Couples Retreat" and ever since that, I fell in love that with that place.
I was in St Thomas last year and I fell in love with it! There is so much to do on the island you'll never get bored. With St John and the BVI a short ferry ride away you can do more exploring and enjoy what the other islands have to offer as each has their own style imo. If you do go to St Thomas I highly recommend eating at Cuzzins in downtown Charlotte Amalie. Another fun place in downtown is Blackbeards castle. When we were there (on a cruise ship day) we practically had the place to ourselves! Private pool so bring your swimsuit. There is a rum distillery on the grounds, too. You have it all; rum, privacy and history!
Hey there, Mrs. Mossman.
I'm actually from Antigua, so I am a little biased :) Mrs. Cupcake went to Antigua for her honeymoon, and I think she did some recaps.
As for resorts, I've heard good things about Sandals Antigua, Galley Bay, Cocobay (which is different from Cocos), Cocos (which is very rustic and quiet but stunning views) Carlisle Bay (which is more high end), Jumby Bay (super luxury), Verandah Resort (I think it's pretty new). There are many more places though.
Antigua is a smaller island, so it's a very different experience than being on a larger island. If you're looking for relaxing, great beaches and stunning views, then I think you'll like it.
There are also places/things to do that I can suggest to go if you like. If you have more questions, feel free to PM me.
WendyS328....Couple Retreat was actually filmed at the St.Regis resort in Bora Bora, French Polynesia. Sorry :( But talk about an unbelievably beautiful place!!!
So I think we decided to go with Antigua. It just seems a little bit more low key, which FI and I will definently need after the wedding!
So now on to deciding which resort....Galley Bay (like Mrs. Cupcake) or the Verdanah Resort. Oh desicions, decisions!
I'm thinking we are leaning towards the Sandals resort in Antigua, it's AMAZING! Go check it out!

FI and I have been debating for a month and we can't decide on our honeymoon location. I told him I would take it to a weddingbee vote...

Help me decide bees! And if any of you have any experiene in any of these places, or resort recommendations please share!
