I’m probably an oldie, compared to most on this board, lol. I’m 35, married 11 years. :). I upgraded my diamond on our 8th anniversary. Now, I’m wanting to change up the band. My current band is a 3mm WG 1/4 ct channel set princess cut and it drives me crazy!! It spins constantly! I really want an eternity ring or semi eternity. Please help me decide between 2 looks.
My ering is 1.21 princess on a 3mm band. Ring size is 4.25.
My husband likes this sandwich look, but I think it’s too much width and takes away from my solitaire. What do you think? Does it take away from the cener stone? The 2 bands are .5 ct each and aren’t eternity…15 stones each, which may still be a spinning problem?
Next is a semi eternity ring, with 24 stones that come very close to meeting all the way around. It’s 3/4 ct. Does it look bad with just one band? I think the overall mm width of this look might be better than 2 bands? Highlights the solitaire more or not?

@Heidibrooke: your diamond looks so much bigger with just the one wedding band. Since your e-ring has a fairly thick band, the sandwich look actually makes it all look like one, very thick ring, and you lose that gorgeous center stone.

I prefer the single wedding band look:)

Thanks so much ladies!! I appreciate your opinions! Keep them coming! 🙂

Two bands are pretty but the one eternity band looks the best in my opinion. 🙂

@Heidibrooke: Your stone stands out more with the single band
ETA: you can always get a second band in another few years and alternate looks!

@Heidibrooke: I don’t like the feeling of a very wide ringset on my hand so I voted for one e-band. My set is very wide so if I could do it over, I would!

the one band is beautiful with your ring! And 3/4 will be much better than a half eternity.

I like the one band better. Your ering band is too thick IMO for both. Your center stone looks soo nice on your hand I think it would look better & bigger in a thinner setting because you have such small hands.

Thanks so much ladies! Keep voting! 🙂 I am leaning toward 1 eternity band. 🙂

My engagement ring is a 3mm band, is that considered thick? It’s exactly 1/8 of an inch thick. I think it looks wider in the pics, lol.

Definitely 1. The sandwich look makes your diamond look smaller, and I’m just not a fan of the look in general.

Get some cheap bands from Berricle and then stack it with the one band on one side. I wanted to sandwich mine too but I find it takes away from my solitaire sometimes so I play alot.

I’m very surprised with the feedback I’m getting. I thought the symmetry of 2 bands was the latest trend. I’m a little relieved. I like the look of 2 bands but I also like the traditional look of 1 band! Keep the comments coming…please!! 🙂

@Heidibrooke: The two band look is common and gorgeous (it is what I have) but it doesn’t work with every ring. Your band is very thick and that is a lot of metal only sandwiched between two diamond rings…it just isn’t a good combo.
Go with the one band.
