Number 2! I think it will fit beautifully in the correct size, and will then look much prettier than #1. They are both pretty, but I think number 2 wins hands down. Thats my vote!
I see why you had a hard time choosing. I can see why #2 has 1 vote, but I have to say #1. I think the ivory color flatters your skin tone more and the shape of #1 (albeit it's hard to really tell since it is already the right size) is more flattering.
I vote for number 2! It looks a lot like the dress I have order from Sophia Tolli.. http://www.sophiatolli.com/CollectionProductDetail.aspx?cname=SophiaTolli&did=0&pid=501700&year=2007&season=Fall& though I am having the neckline altered to a sweetheart neckline.. a lot like your choices!
I love the fit-and-flare look better than the style of number 1.. I found it to look much pretty while moving/walking. The fluffy skirt keeps the bottom dress away from your legs better one without as much fluff.. which means you will stay picture perfect all the time!
I agree about number 1. I like the shape of the cups better and I tend towards simpler slightly less poufy things. They're both good, I just like #1 a lot!
I am so in love with everything about #1! I think the color is amazing on you, if it's an accurate representation of both your skin color and the dress. The lace is really gorgeous.
#1 all the way!!! you look amazing it this one. the color, the shape, everything. plus the lace looks so elegant and well made.
#2 does not look as good. the white too white or something and the shape is not so great.
is there any way that you can get #2 in ivory? i agree that the color of #1 looks better, but otherwise i'd vote for #2.
also, i really love both dresses. could you tell me the designers (especially of #2)?
#1! The shape is much more flattering and elegant. #2 looks a bit too poofy -- and the shape may look more dated in a few years. Mermaids go in and out, so I'd go with the less drastic of the two .... Remember the 80s?
They're both beautiful.
I really like the color of #1,
I don't think the color of #2 flatters you as well.
If #2 was in your size I think it would be more flattering.
My vote is for dress #2 in color #1 :)
#1 I think I perfer the slight mermaid instead of the poofed one. It looks very slinky and classic. The other style to me seems too much of a fad.
I vote #1! Its classicly beautiful with a little twist because of the shape. #2 looks a little cheaply made next #1, to me at least!
Thanks for the help! melodicsighs1, Number 1 is a Legends by Romona Keveza dress from her 2008 (I think fall) collection. Number 2 is by Manuel Mota of Pronovias and is called Cantaro. Cantaro has sleeves and a ribbon, but we manipulated it so that the sleeves were tucked under and the ribbon was tied behind.
#2 OMGA... it's AMAZING... and when they fit it to you! even more dreamy will you look!!!
Wow, I pulled up the Cantaro on the Pronovias website and I'm even more sure I like it better now! I didn't realize that you had folded down the neckline--I think once it is altered properly to a true sweetheart (though I have to admit I love the sleeves), it will lay much better. It will also look more proportionate when it is the right length--I'd suggest a custom hollow-to-hem.
I do agree that ivory is a better color for you, but I just don't like the neckline on the first dress--it is too deep in the center, and the top peaks too far to the sides, it just looks a little off to me. I'm fairly certain you'd be able to order the Cantaro in ivory. Good luck deciding though! I know how tough it is when you are torn. :)
My vote is for #1. I like the steamlined look and I love the ivory color on you!
#1 - i don't like how you can see through #2, especially where the tulle is sewn on at the bottom of the dress.
absolutely # 1. It is gorgeous. You look tiny, so #2 might be too much on the bottom for you, but its hard to tell because its clearly way too big for you.
I like #1. The color and the lace is beautiful, simple and elegant. If you're going for something a little more over the top, then #2 is the dress to get. I think #1 is more understated and timeless.
Thank you all so much for your comments! I agree Number 1 is more flattering, but since our reception is black tie optional, I fear it is too plain? Am I just paranoid?
I think Number 2 is a beautiful dress, but I just fear taking the chance that it will not turn out right once it's my size. I know Number 1 should be fine since the sample is my size.
Another alternative is this dress, for which I cannot take a picture of me in it due to the salon's policy, but which I found online. (I would order a new one since the lovely bride in this picture has such small hips - only 32 inches!).

Hi there! I've posted pics of my top two faves for my formal wedding. The sample for #1 was my size so it's more obvious what the "final" dress would look like. The sample for #2 was very big for me, so though the dress was clipped, it still didn't look right.
Assuming #2 was my size, and price being equal, which dress would you choose? Please help me decide. I love the fit of #1, but #2 is a bit more "dramatic" and feminine.
What's your vote? Thank you!
