I’m having a tough time making a decision. I found a dress that I really like, but I had wished that it had more bling to it and I’ve always wanted a sash. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find a sash that worked well with the dress (at least not at the store I found it at) so I settled with buying a jewelled strand that can be attached instead of a sash.
Sorry that it’s hard to tell because it’s so small, but does the dress look better with or without the added strand of jewels? I also ended up getting a veil that has a thin line of jewels around the edge, so I thought they would look nice together.
In the end it’s so minor that it’s not a huge deal, but I’d love some other opinions.
p.s. please ignore the fact that I do not fit nicely into the sample size and that the jewel strand is just pinned on lol.

You look great! Beautiful gown! I really love the jeweled strand – it really pops and adds definition to the top. Pretty!

I agree! I really like the strand. It adds to the already beautiful dress. 🙂

yes, definitely go for the strand.

Definitely WITH the strand! That dress looks really good on you.
You should try the Maggie Sottero Gwenyth, if you’re still looking. It looks similiar to your dress, plus tons of bling on the sweetheart neck line.

Thanks for the nice comments!
I have purchased this dress, and the strand actually (although it hasn’t been attached yet), but I’m one of those people who struggled with dress regret for a while, because I decided to order the dress after going to only one store. Why I didn’t realize that I was allowed to keep looking after the first store is beyond me, but regardless, this is my dress and I do love it now. I just can’t decide if I like the jewels or not. I like the added bling, but maybe it cuts up my proportions and makes me appear shorter? Or I could just be overanalyzing everything again lol.
Either way, thanks for the feedback and the sweet comments, it really helps me feel better about my decision!
It’s kind of funny how the votes are pretty close, because I keep flip flopping between my favorites too lol. It isn’t helping how I look larger in the 2nd picture, but hey at least I’ve lost 15 lbs since I went dress shopping so it will look better when it arrives! 🙂

I actually like it better without the strand. It looks so FRESH on its own. And it shows off your perfect hourglass figure. The strand kind of cuts you off at the bust instead of letting the line of your body continue uninterrupted. I want that dress, by the way! It’s gorgeous!

@summerbride12: I did the same thing and got a dress from the first place I shopped at. I did have regrets too and even tried to call and “hold”/cancel the order (but didn’t even up cancelling), but I think I was just freaked out b/c I wanted to try more on. I wish I would have enjoyed the experience more, but I heard that can also become more confusing! Now I have to wait 7 months for my dress to come in and I just want to try it on again to be reassured why I fell in love with it in the first place 🙂 You made the right choice though! Love your dress 🙂

@ kmurley: I think that was it, not getting to continue the experience. But I was definitely confused enough as it is, so it probably would’ve made things worse lol. I’m sure when your dress comes in that you will fall in love with it all over again! 🙂
@ jayce: Thank you! I definitely agree with what you are saying. I think it might be a bit more flattering without the strand there rather than breaking it up, but I couldn’t help wanting to add more bling lol. Plus now I feel guilty for having paid for it if I don’t end up using it lol. At least I have a while before I have to decide!

I think the dress by itself is gorgeous – simple elegance. And I dont think it needs anything else. YOu can always dress it up with a more bling veil or sparkly jewelry or even a pretty headband!

Thank you! 🙂
Not sure if it makes any difference either, but our wedding is going to be in the afternoon in a garden in June, so maybe it doesn’t need bling and the flowers might be enough? lol.
Thanks everyone for the feedback though!

I think the extra “bling” is a nice touch! You have a good eye for that, I couldn’t look at a dress and figure out how to add to it.

I love the dress without it. But its beautiful with it also. I would do what makes you feel more beautiful. I love that dress!!

I thought for sure that I’d say I didn’t like the jeweled strand…but I have to admit, it does look really nice with the extra bit of bling! It’s not over the top at all, and adds a nice touch, IMO. But really, the dress looks lovely on you either way. It’ll be beautiful, whatever you decide.

I am not one for bling & sparkles- my own dress has no beading- so I think its totally up to you in the end & what your style is- easier said than done. However- in this case I think the beading does add some extra pisazz. Go luck with your decision!
