Please help me find a coverup shrug

posted 3 months ago in Beehive

Hi Bees,

Please help me find the following. I am having the hardest time. I would have bought the ones below but they are out of size small.

I 'm looking for black cropped shrug preferably with a button at the top, but I don't know where to look. My wedding dress is off-white and black. I admit I am not the best shopper.

I want to shop with a reputable website that has a brick and mortar store, or is at least well known.

I like these styles:

I would look into MOB dresses if you want something a bit more dressy. Most MOB dresses come with one...

for example heres one with a lace shrug

Ok, I'm a librarian...so here's a few suggestions on how to "look" for it.  I would suggest using search terms that include "bolero" and "cardigan" in addition to "shrug".  If you're browsing, look both at women's and junior's departments, as well as in "sweaters", "tops" and "outerwear" (just in case).

I tried the search terms above at sites I figured would be heavy on solid black, either because they carry a lot of that color in general, or because their selection is so large there was a good chance of finding something close in it.  Here a couple you might like (they're close, but none are exactly what you were looking for):

White House Black Market has a black shrug (the "Supple Crop Shrug").  The sleeves are shorted than the ones in your photos, and there isn't a button, but it looks quite nice.  Here's the link: http://www.whitehouseblackmarket.com/store/browse/product.jsp?maxRec=39&pageId=1&viewAll=true&productId=300107190&prd=Supple+Crop+Shrug&subCatId=&color=&fromSearch=&inSeam=&posId=37&catId=cat210001&cat=Tops&colorFamily=&maxPg=1&size=

Here's another one from Banana Republic: http://www.bananarepublic.com/browse/product.do?searchCID=25789&pid=565040&scid=565040022&vid=1

This one from Ann Taylor is actually a bolero, but it's cute (and on super sale!): http://www.anntaylor.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=13663&defaultColorNameFromCrosell=Black

I can't tell if this one from Kohl's is good or not, but take a look: http://kohls.com/kohlsStore/womens/sweaters/cardigans/PRD~354879/ELLE+Pleated+Cardigan.jsp

I also looked at www.bluefly.com.  It doesn't have a physical location, but it's safe to shop there.  I think you can buy from any retailer that uses withe Paypal or Verisign and feel secure.

Here is one from Bluefly in a 4:

 Good luck!

Found one!

Thanks for the help ladies. I just got this one today from Babygirl Boutique. They shipped super fast. I think it will go well with my retro inspired wedding dress.

Whats the difference between a bolero and a shrug?

i wasn't sure myself but i looked it up and this explains it pretty well:

i think the one i bought it called a bolero shrug is because it ties into a bow like a bolero tie.
