So my engagement photos are coming up soon, and I have a bit of a shoe dilema. I found these gorgeous wedges on clearance and bought them impulsively (I have a bit of a shoe problem!) but didn’t take into account how high they were since they were so comfortable. My FI and I are the same height, so I tower over him in these shoes, and I’m thinking it might be better to just wear flats. I don’t normally wear flats with short dresses (I feel it makes my legs look stumpy) but I figured if it was an open-toe or strappy shoe it might help. So I’ve narrowed it down to a few choices and I need help to see which ones would look best with my dress please. If you have any other suggestions let me know too please 🙂
My dress and necklace:
Shoes I’d originally bought:
Shoes I’m stuck between now:
Shoe 1, think they’re adorable but worried they’ll probably look weird with the dress:
Shoe 3, love these but worried they might be too casual:

I like the wedges, but understand you not wanting to be taller than your FI! Out of the flats, I like #5 It’s the only one without an ankle strap, so you don’t have to worry about it making your legs look stumpy! I would say #1 is my least favorite..they look too much like house slippers.
If you want heels..why not find a smaller heel? By the time your FI puts on his shoes, there won’t be that much of a difference…and I’m sure your photographer can work with it so it’s not noticable.

kmartinez: I voted for choice #3. I like them the most they are adorable. I get a summer vibe from the look of them. IMO I think they would go perfect with your dress and necklace. Good luck making your choice and hopefully we’ll see your choice in pictures later on 🙂

If stumpy is a concern I would definitely stay away from anything that “divide” your leg, so all shoes with straps would be out. Of the two remaining ones, 1 and 5, it looks like 5 matches your necklace the best so that’s what I would go with.
