Hi there Bees.
I’ve been having major dress drama (complete with wedding dress nightmares). I am unable to try on the dress that I am dying to get, although I’ve been able to try on very similar dresses by the same designer. I think I’ll be okay buying the dress I want even though I haven’t tried it on. BUT — ALL, I mean ALL of my friends and family like a different dress. The look I want for MY wedding is classic, timeless and elegant (and my fiancee likes this style too, although he says I will look beautiful in whatever dress I choose).
I won’t give away which dress I like, but will you please give me your unbiased opinions about these two dresses, particularly, which one you think will stand the test of time better? I know both will look dated at some point, but I want a classic dress over a modern one.
Please vote below, and if you have any other thoughts about this dress I would appreciate it! I am size 2 and 5’0. I will also be wearing a beautiful thick diamond necklace (about 1 cm in width), it is going to be borrowed.

I think they are very similar, as far as being very elegant and timeless. I think it comes down to which dress you like better, as far as the details go. I like the first one better, but I’m very simple.

The second one looks a lot trendier than the first, which is something to avoid if you’re going for timeless. I love the first dress.

Voted for the first but they seem so similar that I sort of hesitate to vote at all without seeing them on you! They are both lovely.

I think the first one is more classic.

I agree, they are almost the same dress. I prefer the first one, personally.

Both are beautiful, but I have to agree with some of the PPs in that the second dress looks a bit more modern in terms of the embellishments. I would chose #1 – it is gorgeous!

I think they’re both quite modern: Sweetheart strapless necklines, ruching and dropped waists are all very ‘now’. But there’s no way to know what will date well so go with what you love now.

I think if you’re going to be blinging out your neck than you don’t need any more at the chest line. I think the first one is more simple and beautiful, and I know Maggie’s fit is fantastic! You really can’t go wrong with any of her dresses, but this one is very pretty.

I think the brooch is very trendy right now (I know they arent new, but the placement of the brooch is very popular right now and I think makes it less timeless). They are both very pretty though, you really cant go wrong with these options!

I like the first one better! its gorgeous!

Voted for the first. Especially if you’re wearing a diamond necklace, it might be a bit much w/ the second dress.

Very similar but with a diamond necklace, #1 would be perfect!
