For the place cards you print out on some sort of card (however you want) each guest’s name and you can either a: print the table number on each card or b: arrange the card table so that each table has a labled section with the appropriate cards placed under/around it. I’m sucking up the cost and just having them printed up at OfficeMax cause I just don’t have the time to do them myself – although the invitations went out in plenty of time, people were late in responding (some deliberately) so I felt I should leave them as the last thing to do.

I’ve been to weddings that have just had the number printed on the card and it worked out pretty well, all the guests had to do was find their name and carry their card to the table.  But a list would work well too.  Getting ideas for how to do mine was something my reception site coordinator was helpful with.

I’m printing my name cards myself this weekend (last minute as I have just about everyone’s response now) and I bought blank cards at JoAnns.  I don’t know how long it will take, but I don’t think it will take too long.  It’ll be my weekend project.

Got my cards back from OfficeMax the next day – printed and folded. Money I didn’t want to spend but REALLY did NOT want to be messing with my printer at this stage of the game. Worth every penny to me! And had to go back because 1 name was missing (don’t know if it was OM or my cat) and I was given one wrong last name for a guest (by my aunt, not OM) and they did them up right there at no extra charge.

I went in and picked out the paper then emailed them an excel file with the names and table numbers. I wasn’t crazy about the paper when I picked it but it looks beautiful now that it’s done.

we’re doing the more common method:

table with place cards all set out alphabeticly with the guests name and table number on it.  the guests will then take their place card and fine their table number.

i felt that this was an easier way rather than repeating myself by doing both a seating list as well as the place cards on the tables.

i love all things paper, so naturally all our pieces are matching including table numbers, place cards and menu cards

lol – I’m done with everything and have too much time on my hands and too much going through my head to sleep!

Didn’t match my table numbers to the cards – just bought them at Michaels. I don’t care and seriously no one will notice. Not to be snarky ClairDarling…I’m just not that ambitious & left this stuff till the last minute cause I had late replies/cancellations/hems and haws…as I knew I would. But oh the visions I had in my head! lol
