Hi – I bought a 2.2ct, VS2, H color, Excellent cut diamond and I’m thinking about returning it because I see a tint of yellow and it bothers me. Instead, I found the following stone and am thinking about buying it.
2.7ct, SI2, F color, Excellent cut, HCA score 1.6
Vendor said the table is eye clean although there are some black inclusions.
I have attached a picture – can you tell me what you think?

I’m sorry, it just looks like there’s black polka dots in it! I’d probably prefer a yellowish diamond to this one, but that’s just me!

Personally, I think you are nuts for wanting to return a VS2 for that… It would drive me nuts all of those inclusions… Though, I do regularly loupe mine.

I don’t think that I would buy an SI2 without seeing it. Could you return it afterwards?

bluerose88: The inclusions wouldn’t bother me personally. I think inclusions are neat as long as they don’t interfere with sparkle. I am a gem nerd though.
The photo you posted is magnified. I don’t think you will notice those carbon spots once it is on your hand. When it comes to the two you have to choose between, the one with the most fire would be the winner for me. That’s my favorite aspect to a diamond. Good luck! 🙂

I would actually need to look at the diamond. I would want to view it with the naked eye to see if I could see any inclusions or not.
