THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!
Both wedding and reception are in the woods and the aisle is slightly downhill, so I need a wedge or a thicker heel. I also don’t want anything too high (a wedge kind of cancels this out though) because I don’t plan on doing a shoe change into flats (FI is too tall!).
Colors are supposed to be blush and gold, but so far are just blush… There’s no theme, but my personality is very “old-lady-ish”…I love vintage and lace and antiquey things.
Wedding scene should be really laid back (it’s in the woods for crying out loud), so I don’t want anything shiny or blingy. I’d like to stay away from satin, but that doesn’t seem possible.
My dress is lace, so I’m kind of confused as to what will go with it.
Option 1: I LOVE THESE. I know they’re not everyone’s taste, but like I said, I was born an old lady at heart. I’m just worried they are too much with my dress, i.e. lace EVERYWHERE. One thing I love about them is I could customize them so they had pictures of my parents. My dad passed away and I love the idea of him “walking” me down the aisle 🙂
Option 2: I think these are super cute, but I honestly don’t know if they’re for sale anymore 🙁 (I’m terrible at using the internet…I’m not just an old lady in my taste).
Option 3: Not crazy about these, but they’re a wedge. It’s SO hard to find bridal wedges!
Option 4: Help me with a different option! I don’t usually like anything super strappy, and I can’t wear peep-toe because they’re too uncomfortable.
And of course, this is my dress:

@LittleAnn: The fact you can get the picture of you dad to have him “walk” you down the aisle…I LOVE that idea…and I vote for those!

@LittleAnn: I vote old lady shoes. I’m still giggling after reading your poll my husband is looking at me like I have three heads

@LittleAnn: I also voted for the lace shoes. They look like they would go great with your dress and adding the picture of your dad would be perfect. Also, the closed back of the shoe looks like it would be more stable to walk in. . .it could be the pictures but it looks like a more manageable heel than the wedges you posted.

I’m glad someone else doesn’t think that’s cheesy! My Maid/Matron of Honor groaned when I showed her them, so clearly I needed more opinions!

@Birdi: I’m glad you got some amusement! i’m always laughing on this site and the Fiance tries to peek over my shoulder, it’s my facebook replacement. Thank you for your input!

Old lady shoes! They’re really cute and that’s so sweet!

@emstar168: I agree, I think they are like 3″ heels. Thanks for your help! It’s extremely appreciated! 🙂

@LittleAnn: i say old lady 😉 if you wanna go with wedges, go with different ones, I think you could do better than either of those two pairs. (I like the flower one better, but I don’t feel those with your dress to be honest)

@LittleAnn: I love the old lady heels. As someone who has also lost a parent, I love that you can customize them so your dad can “walk you” down the aisle.

I think the first ones are the best! And i love the photos

Thank you for the honesty – I think I needed someone to say they didn’t work. My Maid/Matron of Honor suggested them and she’s more fashionable than I, so I was trying to trust her but I was questionable. Thanks!

Thank you so much ladies, every bit helps!!!

As sentimental as it might be, I would not wear lace shoes with your lace dress. It’s just too much lace.
There is no reason you can’t steal the locket idea though and add one to another shoe.
Option 2 is by Badgley Mischka Indi Rosette. I could only find it available in black.
Alfani Kendol Wedge available at Macy’s
Lulu Townsend Chic Wedge Pump
AS I said above, you can get a locket shoe clip or brooch and pin or clip it to the front of the shoe.

I DO like those second ones, thanks!
