This is so funny, I'm at home stressing about your Cake! :) White vs Yellow. Custard vs Fudge. I love cake! Not frog flavor though! (frogs freak me out!) Hope these votes help your decision. I'm sure your guest will love whatever your guys pick. Good luck!

My honey still makes fun of me for one embarrassing incident when I ate so much cake batter it messed up the cupcakes! Whoops....
If you are having a tiered cake and you are stuck between two very different options, I would ask your baker if they could make each tier a different flavor. They will usually do that and will rarely charge extra.
Agree---can you do multiple layers? that's how FI and I compromised. Biggest/bottom layer is golden butter cake with chocolate ganache, second layer is dark chocolate with raspberry ganache filling.
IMO, you cannot go wrong with yellow cake and chocolate filling/frosting. It's my all-time favorite. Our cake is going to be iced in a textured semi-sweet chocolate ganache, so it will not be a traditional white iced cake. Just make sure whatever you choose goes with your outer icing (which is why we had to nix a layer of lemon cake...lemon and chocolate...not so great IMO).
Thank you everyone for voting! We had a yellow cake with chocolate frosting and a yellow cake with bavarian cream at our Super Bowl party. I liked them both for different reasons, but I couldn't get past the yellow cake idea in my head for the wedding.
The winner for us (and the votes by a teeny bit) was white cake with chocolate bavarian cream!!! Thank you bees!!!!

So FH and I are at a standstill on cake flavor. We want something everyone (well, most everyone of course) will enjoy. We will eat ANY cake...seriously...it could be frog flavored and we'd probably still eat it if it had buttercream on it and came with champagne! Lol! So please vote and let us snow what sounds best to you. :)
Yellow cake is more buttery; white cake is the more traditional wedding cake. We narrowed that down to those two. Both are good, but I'm just not sure which most people prefer. I always associate yellow cake with kids birthdays in a box cake?
For fillings, I'm partial to the pastry creams since they are fluffier, but can't decide whether chocolate or just the regular would be better. I added a fudge option in case neither sound appealing! Mind you I would eat ALL of them if I could lol
