@hollyberry4:  I did the same thing for my grandma except we had a personalized picture frame made for her. I would suggest maybe putting a little poem on the sign. Like something like these?

God made a wonderful mother,
A mother who never grows old;
He made her smile of the sunshine,
And He molded her heart of pure gold;
In her eyes He placed bright shining stars,
In her cheeks fair roses you see;
God made a wonderful mother,
And He gave that dear mother to me.

Don’t think of her as gone away
her journey’s just begun
life holds so many facets
this earth is only one.
Just think of her as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days or years.
Think how she must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.
And think of her as living
in the hearts of those she touched
for nothing loved is ever lost
and she was loved so much.

An angel lived among us,
A gift from God above.
She showered us with kindness
And shared with us her love.

She cherished every moment
With the man who was her life;
Walking hand in hand together,
Facing life with all its strife.

She loved her children dearly,
Each one a different way,
Nestled close within her heart.
Though, now, she’s far away.

She’s gone to live with Jesus.
But, she’s here with us, today,
Smiling down on every one of us,
And telling us she’s O.K.

My mom just passed away, so I am commenting to find these again. I really liked the last poem. @Sweetescape1976:  Where did you find these/ do you know who wrote them?

@Sweetescape1976:  That poem is beautiful! My mother passed away in January and it brought me to tears (good ones, for the most part!).

I’ve seen the line: “We know you would be with us today if heaven wasn’t so far away.” I liked that one, and have considered using it at my own wedding, although it may be more encompassing for my mom, and grandparents who have passed as well. Just a thought!
