My dress is a line tulle – the bottom of the skirt is not terribly full, very flowy – and although I like it flowy, I would like the skirt to have more poof, giving it a true a-line shape and dressing it up a bit.
I have no idea whether I should get a crinoline, petticoat, hoop skirt, whatever. There’s a link to my dress below, and the first picture reviewer is my review.

I had a dress kinda similar to that from David’s – I knew I wanted something to give the skirt a bit more “oomph.” I didn’t want to wear another layer so I talked to the woman doing my alterations and she suggested I purchase 10 yards of tulle and she sewed it to the inside of the skirt. It was the perfect amount of A-line that I’d wanted, and I got blue sparkle tulle, so it was my something blue, too?

Lovely dress! Mine had a similar shape, with a tulle bottom as well. I ended up deciding to wear a hoop skirt for ceremony and pictures and then just an A-line crinoline for the reception. This turned out to be the perfect compromise — I got the big cinderella look for photos and then the swishy movement of the tulle for dancing! All I had to do was put on both te crinoline and hoop skirt, and then pull the hoop skirt off for the reception.
No hoop skirt:
