Hi all–I am new here and I have been reading pretty much every post on shoes because I have been having the hardest time finding shoes, comfortable ones that is, which would go with my formal dress. My dress is similar in style to this:
So far, I have tried on probably 35 pairs of shoes although if I hadn’t ordered so many on-line, I wouldn’t have even tried so many because most of them were cheap looking in person. But the good thing is that after trying on so many shoes, I at least have it narrowed down to needing a silver sandal, with at least a 3″ heel, with some kind of crystal bling on it to go with the crystal bling on my dress. Sounds easy enough, but almost all are just too uncomfortable.
The problem is, the only kinds of heels that I find to be comfortable are Borns and unfortunately, Born just doesn’t have a dressy enough sandal. Now, I was considering, after reading what so many people have done with adding bling to plain shoes, buying a pair of these Sade sandals http://www.6pm.com/born-sade-petrolio-teal on clearance and painting them silver along with adding a fair amount of crystals to make them dressy. Or, buying something like these http://www.shoeline.com/asp/dcpItem.asp?style=DB41311 and also painting them silver and adding crystal bling.
So, my question is, am I nuts? Would anyone do that to a perfectly good pair of Born shoes just to have comfortable shoes to wear on wedding day? If so, how would you paint or add bling to either of those shoes? I am driving myself crazy with this shoe thing and in fact, it’s currently taken over my life and I’m not even getting married until October!! Please help!
