I posted a couple days ago about what we’re doing in leiu of a groom’s cake. Really quick–FI lived in Italy for 6 years and loved tiramisu. He doesn’t get it much now so I’d doing about 100 dessert “shooters” in tall shot glasses with tiramisu. He also loves banana pudding, which goes with our “southern charm” theme. I would like to do 100 of those as well. Then, I thought, since we’ve vacationed, and loved, Key West together, I can do key lime pie shooters as well. I’d like to display a picture of us next to each little group of shooters at the places that coincide with them- A picture of us together in Italy, a picture in Key West, and a picture of us just here at home, possibly an engagement photo.
I plan on somehow finding map print ribbon and decorating distressed wood frames with a simple bow using the ribbon. I do, though, want to have a little sign, probably just printed on computer paper and displayed in a frame, explaining why we chose each thing, or what the place mean to us. I want it to be real cutesy-like.
Let me give an example. Something like, “Bride and Groom’s love story began over a not-long-enough month of leave from the Marines. Bride just couldn’t contain her love so she followed Groom all the way back to Italy to share memories with him they’ll never forget..”etc. etc. I know it’s cheesy but I want it to read almost like a story. I’ll give you the outline of each place and maybe you can help me!
He was stationed in Italy for 6 years. We met while he was home on leave and had a long distance relationship for 8 months before I spent a month with him in Italy. I came home and we continuted our relationship for a year before he finished up and came home. A little after that, we went on a cruise to Key West and the Bahamas to celebrate my graduation from college. He’s been home 2 years. We live in the South..not sure what other info you’d need. I plan on using funky fonts and want my guests to all read it and say “awww that’s so neat!” Most guests know our story, so I want it to be slightly entertaining.
Please help–I’m at a loss!
