Ok bee's so I REALLY need your help!!  I fell in love with my dress the second I saw it.. I bought it and have never had a moment of regret.......BUT there was always somthing that felt "not right".  Well I figured it out!!  I feel like it makes me look heavier than I really am.  I LOVE the romance in a flowy empire waiste gown.. but from sides shots I could be expecting as far as anyone knows!!..  So I got creative at home with an old belt..So please look past the old brown belt and picture an ivory..tulle..or siver blingy belt!!  I want to get feedback before I buy or even have a belt sewn on..  So please tell me.."Am I just crazy..or does the dress look better belted"??  THANK YOU SO MUCH BEE'S!!

I think it looks lovely both ways but I voted sparkly belt. You absolutely don't look like you're expecting without the belt. :) But I know if I were in your shoes I would say the same exact thing. Any time I wear something flowy like that I think I look pregnant even though ever other person on the planet would disagree with me. I like the belt because it gives you a focal point and really shows off how tiny your waist is.

It looks way better with the belt! Try a solid colored satin belt like the one below (sans the sparkles). I wouldn't add sparkle to an already sparkly dress. However I must admit I'm biased as I'm wearing a satin lawendar sash myself :)

I don't like it with a belt personally... there is detail on the bodice and I think it looks funky with a belt and it doesn't look the way the dress is supposed to look.  I don't think you look heavier in the dress the way it is.

That said, it's your dress and your wedding, if you are more comfortable with a belt then go for it.

I LOVE how it looks with no belt. I can def see why you would think it doesnt look right from the side view but you dont look big at all. the dress is SO beautiful from the front view and i think a belt takes that away from how the dress is supposed to be. do whatever makes you feel the best cause thats whats most important! :)

I would put a solid colored belt with it. The beading and the neckline are gorgeous, but I do think it is more flattering on you with a belt - even though you are by no means big :)

I think a solid belt would be better than a sparkly belt because I wouldn't want the pattern of the sparkles on the belt to clash with the pattern on the dress.

Oh DEFINITELY wear a belt.  Definitely.  It is a beautiful dress with or without the belt, but it looks much better on you with a belt.  I voted for a sparkly belt, like the one you photoshopped.

I think it looks gorgeous on you either way but I think the belt would definitely accentuate your waist!

I voted no belt.  I think you have too much going on already, so putting a belt, especially a sparkly one, would be way too much.

I personally like it with the belt, but it does take away from the detailing on the front. I think if you have it taken in just a little bit it would give you the look you are looking for without a belt. No matter what you decide you have a gorgeous dress!

I like it with the belt, I don't think you can go wrong silvery or solid. I was totally prepared to leave "You're crazy, you do not look pregnant!" but the fabric really DOES bow out right where a bump would be. The belt looks perfect and fixed this "problem."

I would definitely go with the belt! And something solid/plain so that it doesn't take away from how beautiful your dress is!

@Mrs.GreenEyes:  I tried that dress on and its stunning but I felt the same way you do. The belt really solves that issue, it looks great!

I love the defined waistline you get with the belt, however, I really don't know about adding a sparkly belt to a sparkly dress.  What about just a ribbon sash?  I'll tell you what, this is silly, but I actually love the old brown belt with your dress!  I think in terms of belting or sashing, I'm craving more contrast than bling on bling.

It's beautiful either way and I do like how the belt changes the shape a bit. But I am concerned with the shape of the bodice. It kind of looks like it goes up in the center which may look odd with a belt.

If you do go with a belt - stick with a plain satin one. Don't compete with the beading on the dress.

I like the belt! I do think it makes the dress more flattering and shows off your little waist. I don't think you should do blingy though..the dress is blingy enough so my vote is for a solid color plain sash! :)

I like the belt a lot.  It gives you more of a waist but I would go with something that contrasts with the dress and stands out.

@Mrs.GreenEyes:  this is exactly why I didn't like it with the belt... I agree with the PP who said to get it taken in, it looks like it's a bit loose on your up top, I think once that is taken in it will look much better.  Your other option would be to see if the shaped part on the bodice can be altered slightly so it's more straight across, then a belt wouldn't be so bad.

BELT. But I think it should be solid! The sparkly may not blend with the dress pattern.

I am so torn between the two options.  Your dress is absolutely gorgeous! I ended up voting for a plain/solid colored belt because it did define your figure a bit more.  However, I would suggest that you do not get a super embellished belt because I feel it would distract from the beautiful detailing on the dress. Also if you do go with a belt I would suggest a ribbon (something light/not heavy) that is similar to the color of your bridesmaid dresses or a complimentary color to them or one of your theme colors.  Just a suggestion :)

I'm torn. I can see why you are uncomfortable with it but I feel like adding a belt would take away from some of the gorgeous detailing.

Have you already spoken with a seamstress? I feel like it should be fairly easy to tighten a bit in the midsection thus giving you that cinched/belted waist. However I have never made alterations so I'm not 100% positive.

At the end of the day it's about what YOU are the most comfortable with.

I voted for a plain colour belt as I think the contrast would be lovely as there is already a lot of sparkle on the dress itself

It looks SO much better with the belt. It gives you a shape and I think it accentuates the dresses features so I would get someting simple. This is from etsy but I don't remember the seller.

I vote no belt. A belt doesn't really fit the feel of the dress, and seems out of place. Yes, even when I imagine it as ivory or silver and blingy.

I really do prefer it without the belt. I don't think it makes you look pregnant, but if you are that worried about it, I think a better solution is to have the seamstress make the dress hug you more through the true waist so that you get the benefit of the belt without actually putting one on. It might even work to only take in the layers underneath and leave the top, sheerer layer as is.

Ahh I love the brown belt!  lol too funny.  I think it would look pretty either way.  I voted no belt only because I think that your dress is STUNNING and it would take away from some of the detail that is on your dress.  Since it's an empire waist, I think it would almost look odd to have it cinched under the bust and then cinched again at the natural waist.

Ok, first of all, that dress is STUNNING! I love it!.. If I were you, I´d go without the belt.. I think it doesn´t make you look pregnant and I love the romantic look. However, I understand your concern, bc I tried a similar dress and had the same worries, but the dress I tried was much more flowy, so you know!...  However if you choose to use a belt (which also looks amazing), I think a simple solid color belt would look better than a beaded one...

P.D: what´s the name of your dress??
