I have never used one of these companies and quite honestly would be really worried about it. I wouldn't want to put my wedding dress in the hands of these people as I've seen some awful reviews and some truly terrible pictures. Alot of ladies on here have had such a stressful time getting money back, returning the dress and it even arriving in enough time.
Good luck with whatever you decide.
Can you post a picture of the Essence dress? Someone might have seen it for less. There is a shop here in town and I bought mine there for only $99, it was a sample.
Instead of going the china route, maybe you could hire a very experienced seamstress to make a dress from scratch in the design you like?
A lot of girls I know have done that and were pleased, as long as they knew that the seamstress was experienced and very good.
@maz: This is the dress that i would love to order off the internet for a fraction of the price
Do you have a style number? I am going to call the shop locally and see if they have it as a sample.
That dress seems relatively simple for a dress shop in China to do. The draping might be a little different from the China company though. Typically, in dresses I've seen that they do replicas of, they are close matches, but not 100% identical, and usually, the draping/folding/ruching is one of the details that can vary. However, I've heard good things about Jeff Liu/April Bridal on eBay and Light in the Box if you want to give them a shot. Mrs. Lab on the blog ordered her Jim Hjelm replica from eBay and it was nearly perfect.
Hi tksjewelry the Style number is Essence D1119 and thank yo so much for that!!
ohheavenlyday do you know which company Mrs. Lab used???
There's a site that I've seen a couple girls on some other wedding boards say good things about and they've answered all my questions right away as well as have TONS of reviews. i was going to go with them and try it out as it would save me $1200 lol.
I bought from Jeff Liu/Aprils Bridal located on ebay. So far they have been great. I am waiting on pictures and my dress should be do in about 2 weeeks. I will post images if you can hold out. I also purchased from Dressilyme because they gave me samples of their quality. They seem really good too. Its due about the same time.
I have heard good things about tiffanysbridal, monicasbridal, and littlecoral
I think you should check out their websites and ask all of them to provide you with images of their quality before purchasing. If they have a simiar dress ask for stock photos. That helped me to go through some crappy companies.
The only reason why I went with Jeff Liu and Dressilyme is:
A. They promised to get it back in time.
B. 100% refund if you aren't happy.
C. Pictures of quality from previous dresses looked great.
D. Their communication was great. Dressilyme has better communication that JeffLiu but still thinking that he will provide better quality.
Honestly, if you have time I have heard so many good things about Millysbridal and Monicasbridal. I am curious about them but I am comfortable with my choices.
Good luck!
Here is a link from other girls and their reviews for China made dresses. Scroll through their are a ton of images and a ton of comments.

Also email your pic and see if they can replicate. I love their website. Ok thats about all I have for now but there are a lot of options out there.hey maz,

I bought from Jeff Liu.
@alaiyo: i order from one of my friends, she is a professional tailor. i was shocked by her work.
@SandyThePoet: lol, actually i am not, but i own a boutique wedding gowns shop in australia.
I bought a back up dress (long story) off trade tang - from store wedding-dress-818.
It was a replica Maggie Sottero Fiorenza. It is absolutely stunning and with the exception of slightly different (but still beautiful) flowers and different lining, it looks just like the real Fiorenza.
They were very fast and packed it really well for shipping.
Just ordered mine from Jeff Lui off Ebay- crossing my fingers!!! Will do follow-up post!

Jeff Liu didn't honor his 100% refund for me. I don't appreciate his service and wouldn't recommend him. I am a very unhappy customer.
I love my Dressilyme gown and their service is excellent. They have been so good to me and spoken with me over the phone to help me out with my situation.
Sorry to be negative but I never expereienced such unprofessionalism.

This isn't my dress but it was an image I requested for stock reference. I love the quality of this dress. I am sure mine will look just as beautiful.
Dressilyme is wonderful.
i have ordered my dress from China, eagerly awaiting it to be delivered as we speak....
I ordered my dress from monica bridal on dhgate, which is like a chinese ebay. I ordered a replica of a maggie sottero simone. It should be here in 8 days! I'll post a pic when I get it!
I wish I hadn't given a good review of Jeff Liu at the top! That was a while ago before I was disappointed. I honestly think for anyone wanting Swavorski Crystals that Millys Bridal will be good. They offered to put them on for me when we first had a chat. I really liked them but had problems accessing the website afterward I believe it had to do with Chinese New year.
I bought mine from china from a place called lucy's bridal off of alibaba. They were great and fast. They aren't perfect because there is some miscommunication. Find a dress shop where they already offer a dress you want, don't let them make it from scratch. Also, the pick ups and rouching are tough, so I am not sure I would chance it with your dress
I've researched getting my dress made in china alot!
This is what I've come up with:
- look on the website of the company and see if they have images of actual dresses they have made. You and I know they didn't take those beautiful model pictures.
make sure:
- the company will respond to you by phone.
- they will send you image updates of your dress.
- you have contact person you can call with issues.
- they will send you actual live pieces of material from china so you know what your dress will be made of!
- PAY EXTRA for strong zippers! The zippers break off all the time because the zippers are so cheap!
- PAY EXTRA if you want better satin or softer lace so the dress to have better shape and movement!
- KNOW the dresses will not be lined because they cut corners.
- have dress custom made do not buy pre made sized garments cuz they run small.
- be safe and choose simple cuts without alot of bead work or fancy shaped flowers, etc.
- bead work goes wrong more times than not.
- buy through e-bay so you have time to fight it if dress comes out bad.
- be aware of e-bay policy before you buy so if things go wrong you are ready!
@chica95110: I agree with 90% of what you said but if you order from a good company then the dress will be fully lined and even have lots of bones and be made of good fabric without asking them to pay more. The bead work on my dress from Shades of Pale was exquisite, comparable to all the designer dresses I tried on and even better than some. http://www.dressilyme.com/ http://jasminesbridalshop.com/ http://www.facebook.com/pages/Shades-of-Pale-Bridal-The-Little-Velvet-Box/196879553692866 I know for a fact that all of these will have dresses that are fully lined and boned with good quality fabrics. As far as beading goes I only know htat Shades of Pale is very good.

Hi
I have fallen on love with an Essence wedding dress that i tried on in my local bridal shop but its way outta my budget!!! I have found a few websites in china that say they will make me a replica one but just not sure which one to go for as there is swarovski crystals on the dress and scared incase they use cheap sequins and plus the quality of the material etc
PLEASE PLEASE has anybody else used one of these sites lately that could recommend me one???
