I just emailed a bit back and forth with Paris about replicating the Priscilla of Boston Madison. First of all, she said the gown was definitely satin and taffeta, which it is not. It’s satin with an organza overlay which I think is pretty obvious. When she reiterated my specifications to me she said I wanted a zippered back when I adamantly said I wanted a corset back. Her English was overall hard to understand. I got a bad gut feeling about the order so I never proceeded. I was quoted $243.98 not including the custom size fee or shipping and inevitably the duty fees upon arrival to the US. Paris said it would take approximately 20-25 days to finish the dress before shipment.

After reading other reviews I came across Fabulous U and boy, am I impressed! I have been e-mailing with Tony and am so excited to order from them. I immediately felt a lot better about the process when I saw that all of the dresses photographed on their website are dresses that they have made. Tony has EXCELLENT customer service and has responded promptly to all of my questions and we have had no problem in communicating. I have not ordered the dress yet, but will do so around July 18th with an expected arrival date of August 30th (their time frame is 30-50 days and Tony said my date request was no problem). I was quoted $429, and $60 for a custom pearl belt. The shipping is also $60 (to the US) but they record the package as a value somewhere between $50-$150 so you do not have to pay the duty fee upon arrival (yay!).

Just for reference, here is the dress.

And my custom belt will be solid pearls about 1.25″ high. Deciding whether it should be detachable or not.

@brideanjeza:  No problem! I literally went through all of this last night 🙂 if I may ask, what gown are you thinking about having customized?

@brideanjeza:  Ahh I love it! If I wasn’t so boobilicious I would totally wear a high neck gown haha. But anyways, I would definitely check out the lace work from Fabulous U on their Facebook page! I think you will be impressed.
