@emilyekk: I wore the same dress and here were my bridesmaids dresses...

I felt like they went very well with the dress
Maybe not vintage like you want but they go well and you can make everything else vintage.
Thank you for sharing! My mom keeps insisting I need a straight/pencil type dress for the bridesmaids with NO poof because she thinks it will outshine my dress.
Of course I love poof, lol. So all the bridesmaids dresses I keep gravitating towards have poof in them - and I think it would look okay but she doesn't so I'm all over the place in terms of deciding, lol!
I think if you keep the bridesmaids dress simple, a little poof won't outshine your dress at all!
I was a BM in a wedding where the bride wore the designer version of your dress and the BMs wore this Alfred Angelo dress. We hated the dress we had to wear because it was very poorly made however it did complement the bride's dress nicely.
I agree with your mom. Go with straight dresses for the BMs so it's not a ton of poof! I had a very poofy dress and had my BMs in straight dresses. My dress stood out great.
What about the B2 line from Jasmine? I think a dress like this would compliment yours well. http://www.jasminebridal.com/ugC_Product_Detail.asp?hidP_kind=Bridesmaids&hidP_style=B2&hidj_line_order=2&hidP_Style_ID=B4094
I don't think you can ever outshine the bride in the white dress !!
Thanks jpalm13 - I looked at a dress very similar to that at anthropologie.
I think I like untraditional fabric for bridemaid dresses (HATE shiny fabric). I'm also stumped because I have two junior bridesmaids (they'll be 9 & 10 years old) - so I'm not only stumped on BM dresses but on the juniors as well.
Ay yi yi.
Alfred Sung makes a ton of dresses that fit that style and come in all colors! But I do have to add that the BM dresses really aren't your moms' call. Ours had a bubble hem, but I never asked her opinion, just said, "Hey mom, the bridesmaids and I found a dress we all love and ordered them!" and that was that.
A bunch of links but I think this is my fave (and they make junior BM versions!) - sorry it's huge!:

Somewhere on Jasmine's site they mention that they can make any dress in any fabric (something along those lines) but you have to talk to a bridal shop that offers them.
Junior bridesmaids will make it a bit trickier.
@jpalm13: They can, but there's a charge depending on what type of fabric it is. For awhile, we thought they wouldn't have my color in the Jasmine BM dress we picked out, so we looked at switching fabrics. For my girls, it would have been a $30 charge, but it was moving from a regular taffeta to like, a luxe taffeta or something.
@courtney1188
you found it! I love it and all my girls love it! Can you direct me to the matching jr bridesmaid version?? I can't find it anywhere! Thanks SO much!! :)
@emilyekk: Yay, I'm glad you like it! =) That dress immediately popped into my head when I saw your post.
And crap, apparantely they don't make junior bm ones that exactly match that dress, but they have some that are very close but a bit younger for the 9 and 10 year old. I think this one would probably be the best fit:

Or possible this:
@Wonderstruck: I agree with the Alfred Sung dresses, that whole line has such a great Mad Men feel.
They're available on Weddington Way, so you can set up a styleboard beforehand if you're thinking about mixing up the various vintage-inspired styles and colors.
I have a pretty similar gown like yours, and here's what i chose for my bridesmaids, they do have pink as an option.

Hello!
This is my first time posting here (EVER!) so forgive me if this is in the wrong spot of anything.
I got engaged in September and we are getting married in October 2012. Everything has gone insanely smooth so far with regards to finding a venue, photographer, my dress, etc. I have finally hit a speedbump and it's with the bridesmaid dresses.
First of all this is my dress: http://davidsbridal.com/Product_Strapless-Shantung-Taffeta-Sweetheart-Ball-Gown-T3039_Bridal-Gowns-Shop-By-Designer-Galina
My favorite color is bubblegum/flower pink and I love love love dresses from the 1950's and 1960's (pretty much anything you'd see on Mad Men, I love it. I don't necessarily need the bridesmaid dresses to be pink however, I'd be fine with pink flowers.
I am having a CRAZY difficult time deciding on bridesmaid dresses.
My problem is that while I LOVE my wedding gown, it is very plain and simple. So the bridesmaid dresses need to be REALLY plain and simple so they aren't the main focal point.
I'd love to have a vintage feel (not like rockabilly stuff, just vintage feel - I love modcloth and anthropologie) to my wedding and I'd love to express that feeling through the bridesmaid dresses but I can't find anything that doesn't upstage my gown.
Even with the vintage aspect aside I can't find any bridesmaid dresses I like to go with my gown.
Can anyone help? Thanks SO much. :)
