We left her with a friend for a few days while we were on a trip to sign our lease. On our way home this morning we got a phone call saying she was attacked by a pitbull on her walk last night. Our friends was able to beat off the Pitbull and get her to the ER vet. She's got lots of stitches and a draining tube. We're hoping she pulls through since she's just a little girl (4 year old Pom mix).

Thanks. We have her on some antibiotics and pain stuff. Can't walk her or move her much for the next 10 days. Seems to be doing better now that we're here and brought her home.

Here's some of the cell phone pics now that she's cleaned up and sleepy. Really hope they find the dog so he can't hurt anyone else!

Oh gosh I'm so sorry this happened to you. My cat was attacked a few months back and the only thing that comforted him was me laying next to him.  He cried a lot at night and so I moved his bed next to me in our bed.  I hope your pup pulls through!  Keep us posted on how she does.

I hope she gets better quickly. I'm sorry that there are such irresponsible owners out there. Hopefully they'll find out who's dog it is and punish them for it. Keep us updated on your girl's progress.

Little Pennie is able to hobble around the bathroom today. We got her to eat a little this morning, and her drain tube thing is coming out during her vet visit tomorrow. We are keeping all the bills and paper work so that if the owner and dog are found (and we have a couple clues!) we can take legal action. = ) We did call animal control to report that there was an incedent as well. Thanks for your happy thoughts!

OMG!!!!  My heart goes out to you!

Good job for keeping all the paperwork.  Have you called animal control about the attack?  Just want to make sure that you have all your bases covered.

Oh my goodness!! I'm glad she is okay!!

My hubs brother's golden got attacked by a pit as well, the pit but the side of her neck. Its ridiclous how people let their dogs roam and will allow them to run up to other dogs when the owner knows they are vicious!

That's horrible!  I hope that she feels better soon and someone finds that dog.  It shouldn't be allowed around other dogs if it is going to attack other dogs and possibly people.

omg, thank god she's ok, what a scary story :(  I have two Poms, and couldn't imagine if this were to happen.

Hoping for a speedy recovery for you, and I really hope you track the owners down so they can pay for the damage.  What a traumatic experience for your friends watching her.

Some people just shouldn't own dogs, it's disgusting.  What was a Pit Bill doing running around loose anyway!!

The sad part is, is that because it's a pit bull, they might just put it down once it gets found... i'm sure the owners aren't responsible enough to do anything about it either.
