Is my wording okay? Did I miss anything? This is a beach wedding, not formal, yet not completely casual either…if that makes sense 🙂 Here is what my invite says:
Together with their families
Mary Jane Smith
John R. Doe
Invite you to join them
underneath the palm trees
as they unite in marriage.
Saturday, October the eighth
two thousand eleven
at five o’clock in the evening
Cocktail hour and outdoor
reception to follow

Two little questions:
– it seems a little odd that your middle name will be printed, but he’s using an initial – is there a reason for that?
– is the “October the eighth” common where you live? In the UK I’d expect it to say “8th October” or “the eighth of October”.
But apart from that it looks correct to me… 🙂

@RainStorm: He does not like his middle name so we have chosen to exclude it. I happen to love my middle name so we are using it and just using his middle initial.
I will have to check on the correct way to list the date. It might be different here than in the UK but now I’m second guessing myslef so I will look into it 🙂

@soflobride: 🙂 Sorry – didn’t want to cause you extra work! I just wasn’t sure. And everyone will know what you mean anyway!
And the name thing makes perfect sense now 🙂
