Oh Thank goodness... at first I was skimming and I thought you were removing the tree button one....
So glad the problematic "upload a photo" is gone!!!
I just posted this at noritake22's post, but only before I saw this post.
@ Lorienne - are they going to fix it and bring it back? The site isn't secure enough and my computer autolocks the pop ups boxes from sites don't have x amount of security. I really don't know what all that means, it is just what the tech guy from the party told me.
Phew! I was worried too but Ive always used the little tree icon so no biggie :-)
@tksjewelry: At this point we have no plans to bring back the removed method of photo upload.
I'm not sure why you ever saw popups on our site because we don't serve any, with the exception of the recent WB site survey which was actually an "overlay" which came up from the bottom of the page - not a traditional popup.
It's possible you got adware on your computer from another site; it happened to me once and I started getting these weird popups over ever site I visited that said, "Hey, Weddingbee visitor!", "Hey, Facebook visitor!" etc. depending on which site I was on. It was annoying but running Adaware (which I think is free) got rid of the adware and I didn't see those types of popups again after that. Maybe that was the issue for you?
@tksjewelry: You should be able to add Weddingbee as a "trusted site" in your Internet Options. Which should then allow the tree icon to work for you. :)
Thanks for pointing that out!
I should have done so as well in my post.
@Lorienne: I have a similar pop up, when I click the tree icon it brings up a new smaller window for the actual photo choice. Maybe this is what @tks is referring to?
But hooray for the photo uploading to be fixed! Thanks!
That may be it! In which case Gemstone's great suggestion would totally hook members of the Hive up with being able to upload photos without having to have their popup blocker turned completely off.
Darn - I always preferred the other method! Guess I'll have to get used to the tree icon ...
I have had a hard time all day trying to upload my photos. It shows my photos, but as soon as I submit the listing it doesn't show the picture, it has small rectangular boxes with a question mark instead of my photos. Please help!
Oh no! That stinks because I'm not able to upload photos with the little "insert image" icon from my work computer.
The window opens up when I click it but it's blank and says "error" at the bottom. And it's not something I'll be able to get around.
I didn't even know there was any other option that the "upload a photo" button! Shows how much I pay attention...
It's not working very well for me. Especially when I try to do the multiple upload. I can't see where to actually upload the photos.
@crh1729: You have to upload the pictures seperately with that icon. You add the image to the box next to the Browse button and then click the upload button. You have to do this again for multiple pictures.
Ah darn :( I preferred the other method as well. The insert image method tends to shrink and distort the images a lot, especially when they're horizontal. Oh well.
:( I wondered what was happening. Shame, I liked that way of doing it, it was easy and you could upload more than 1 photo easily. And, I never knew there was a picture of a tree in the middle of icon - I sure must need stronger classes - I had to zoom in to 200% in order to see it.
Huh....I never even noticed that button before...but I guess I'll use it now :-)
@crh1729: When you use the multiple file uploader click the link on the main Image Manager box:

Then click choose files.

Then hold CTRL while you click on each of your photos in a file you want to upload (they have to be in the same file folder) and then click open.

Then you should see the Image Manager change to this one, click "upload to server". A little time bar will move across as your photos are uploaded and bingo bango they should appear in your post!

i only have my phone to work with and i cant upload any pictures... any ideas
clicking on upload doesnt do anything for me
@min_wilson: Could you post this to the Support section? There are several iphone/ipad functionality issues that tech already knows about, but they won't see this here on the boards. If you post to Support we can make sure they see it. :)

Hello, Hive! <3
Wanted to let you all know that we had to make a change to the site to remove one of the two methods of photo upload (having both was causing some problems for us!). So, you'll notice that the bottom "upload a photo" option is no longer there -- however, you can click on this button:
in your toolbar above the posting window to upload your photos into your posts.
<3,
Lori
