Which brands were the most comfortable? How high was the heel? I wanted to wear 3-4 inch heels. Am I crazy? I have wide feet. :( Any recommendations would be helpful.. thanks!!

I also have wider feet... and my fiance is 16 inches taller than me so heels were a must! Here is a link to my shoes - on sale now and about 3 inches. The Cole Haan brand is actually owned by Nike so the cushioning in the sole of the shoes makes it feel almost like sneakers and the leather is WONDERFULLY soft. They are peep toe and do come in several colors, closed back, or slingback. Check them out.

Oh dear those are expensive. I am also looking for comfy wedding shoes that are at least 3 in. (they didn't hem my dress short enough and it's a very complicated hem and since my fiance is 14 in. taller than me, higher shoes seemed easier than rehemming it), but I'm looking more in the $100 or less range. I know they're worth what you pay, but I could not afford shoes that expensive.

I'm currently looking for shoes too, but I haven't gotten it done since my dress isn't in yet. Try zappos.com or myglassslipper.com, they have all kinds at different price points, heel heights etc. check out their sale shoes too. You can always return the ones you don't want if they don't fit well or hurt your feet, as long as they aren't damaged etc. That is why some brides order a bunch and return the ones they don't like or don't fit without worrying about it. Good Luck!

Taryn Rose makes very comfortable shoes... she is an orthopedic surgeon and decided to make shoes that are stylish, functional, and also healthy for your feet! You can find her shoes on zappos.com or at www.tarynrose.com. They are pricy but worth it!!

I bought the Cole Haan Shoes and love them...it's so reassuring that someone else thought they were comfortable too! I got mine at the Cole Haan outlet and while they were still pricey ($150ish) it's a lot lower than teh $280 they were listed for online. altering my dress isn't an option for me as it is an Indian outfit and I don't know where to take it. you can try to google Cole Haan outlets and see if there's one near you.

One of my co-workers wore jeweled flip flops! I got some nice heels from Bakers.

I wore a pair of about 3" heels by Nina. They fit really well and were comfy until the toasts, when I switched to an old pair of flats. I found them by trying on a ton of shoes - it's the only way to find one that's right for your foot.

I'd recommend Aerosoles - they make (short) heels and flats. That's what I wear to work, and they keep my feet happy all day. Note: I have wide feet, and I have to get my Aerosoles stretched a bit and break them in with socks. But then they fit great!

I found my shoes at Naturalizer. They always have sales so if you can find a pair you like, be on the look out for a sale (store or online) or coupon. Their shoes tend to run 2" to 3". The key to comfort in heels, I've found, has been getting a stable heel. The thicker the heel, the better if you must add height. I definitely agree that Cole Haans are great, but they can be much more expensive.

For my first wedding I purchased a pair of Peter Fox shoes...I swear it was like walking on clouds!!! he is a bit pricey but it was worth it. I got "sherann" a 1940's style sling back and it was $340. After the wedding you can bring the shoe back and they do dye it-free of charge. www.peterfoxshoes.com

    Hope that helps!

If you don't mind something a bit unconventional, these white wedges by Charles David are surprisingly comfortable and very affordable:

Ditto to what peachypear said about Aerosoles. I was surprised at the cuteness for the brand when ordering them from Zappos, but have loved them at every wedding I've worn them to. It's nice being the last one in heels instead of the first one in slippers.

I must recommend Cole Haan -- they're gorgeous and amazingly comfortable (though I didn't know they were owned by Nike until I read it here).

I found a gorgeous pair of red velvet Cole Haan heels at TJ Maxx for $99. The last time I checked, they had a good variety of Cole Haan heels there.

thank you so much for all your recommendations... i will have to check out all of them... the diva in me wants to splurge on some fancy shoes that i can wear again-- probably won't get white ones... i wanted either blue or something bright like red or pink.

    THANK YOU everyone!

I am wearing white Rainbows with Swarovski crystals on them. They are absolutely adorable and comfortable! I don't care about having heels. I want to be myself and comfy coming down the aisle. :)

I love Steve Madden, but I have narrow feet. As for heel height, just make sure you have some backup shoes in case your toes start to ache on the dancefloor!

I'm also having the same problem. I want comfortable shoes at an affordable price, but in pink. I haven't had much luck since it's almost winter. I'll check out the links posted above, hopefully, I'll find something soon!

I second (or third?) Naturalizer shoes. I have terrible feet (wide, high instep). While I have tried various Cole Haan shoes (and spent tons of money in the process), the shoes that I inevitably wear the most are Naturalizers. For my wedding, I bought my red Naturalizer shoes on sale (from the Naturalizer website) for $20!!! I wore them all afternoon and night with no problem, and I normally am miserable when I wear heels. (These had about a 2-2 1/2 inch heel, btw). Look for coupons online, too, for Naturalizer shoes.
Another good option are wedges. I have found that most wedges are pretty comfy compared to the average heels.

I haven't worn them yet, but I ordered the Chinese Laundry "Baldwin" shoes in Ivory for my wedding. They have about a 4" heel. (my fiance is also 14" taller than me!) They got great reviews on Zappos for being really comfy even with such a large heel. They were around $70 on Zappos, but I can got them at 6pm.com for about $30! They have a few other colors too if you're looking for something besides Ivory.

If you like the CL Baldwin shoes, you should buy them through endless.com and have them price match to 6pm- that way you can get free shipping + free returns if they aren't that comfortable for you.

I wore these: http://tinyurl.com/67ysmt from endless.com, they're only 2" high, but my feet always hurt and I wore these all night, and my feet didn't hurt once. They were fabulous!! And I agree about endless.com, I bought 4 pairs of shoes because I wasn't sure what I wanted and I just returned the other 3.

And I should add they were only $54.95!
