We are having a small celebration for family and friends. We had a primary list and secondary list of guests. In the event people from the primary list could not attend, we would fill the spot with guests from the secondary list. So the return date was 7/31/13 and four people did not return their RSVPs. I have already filled their seats and now I am thinking they will just show up. Not sure how to handle this (other than call them and say “I hope you were not planning on attending because your seat is taken”)
How did you deal with RSVPs that did NOT come back?

@officialeboni: Normally the hosts of a wedding have to follow up with the non-resonders by phone, email ,text- whatever you normal method of communication.
Having not done that, you do risk these invited guests showing up and you will just have to deal with it.
I suggest you contact them now, so that if you are going to be over in your numbers you can figure out Plan B before the wedding.

This is why you’re supposed to call people and get a yes/no answer from them if you don’t get their RSVP. What if they rsvp’d yes but it got lost in the mail? They obviously assume you got it and will show up.
