That's horrible! And incredibly sweet that she's trying to console you and tell you not to worry about your wedding. I'll keep her in my thoughts - she sounds like a lovely person :)
Thanks! She is a lovely person - I'm trying to figure out ways to help her right now without being too intrusive, i.e., dropping off dinners for her and her husband.
Oh no! I'm so sorry she's going through this. I'm not familiar with this condition but I hope she's not in a great deal of pain. I'm glad she's got a good friend by her side.
Here's hoping she gets well soon... without surgery!
:( :(
I feel so badly for her. I say you should drop of dinners galore! Or at least that's what we do down hurr.
Poor thing.

My good friend (who is also my officiant, but that's the least of my concerns right now) was just diagnosed with spinal stenosis and six fractured vertebrae. Apparently the condition is very rare in someone her age (35) - it's much more commonly seen in the elderly. She's in a lot of pain and on bedrest right now, undergoing physical therapy every other day. I'm praying she won't have to have spinal surgery.
She sent me a long email last night, saying not to worry about the time before the wedding (7 weeks), but I'm way more worried about her!! She just got married in July, and I'm sure her husband is being wonderful - he's a great guy.
So please send some good thoughts her way -- I'll update when I know more. :-(
(Oddly enough, my childhood priest who officiated my first wedding broke his leg a week before that wedding and was in a full leg cast up to his hip - he insisted on doing the ceremony but sat the entire time. Weird.)
