Hello bees! I’m looking to hear from those of you who were married / are getting married in a church and who had organ music for your entrance and exit. What did you choose? I’m looking for ideas! (The Wedding March and Midsummer Night’s Dream are definitely out for me – too cliche where I live)
We have asked my very talented organist friend to play for us. I’m sure he’ll have some ideas too but I would like to know what other brides picked! People keep giving me recommendations in conversation but I never have them written down so I don’t remember to look them up later.

my organ music choices….
Bride’s Entrance: Prelude to a te deum by Marc-Antoine Charpentier
Recessional: Hornpipe from Water Music – Handel
I wanted the recessional to be the K #594 (Allegro Middle Movement) by Mozart, but I asked for it on too short of notice, plus I think it is slighly complicated.
I youtubed everything I could find and listened to it over and over again. I wanted something kinda “ta-da-ta-da” but not slow and sad. I do NOT want to cry!

@PeachSnapple: Thank you! Very helpful. There will be a lot of people at my wedding who know about classical music (and about 4 or 5 professional organists) so I want my choices to be classy!

I’m trying to remember all of ours. I know we’re having Hollins’ Trumpet Minuet during the signing of the register. Our songs include Great is Thy Faithfulness and To Be A Pilgrim…
I’ll have to look the rest up…

We’re considering (haven’t selected any yet but I think all of these sound lovely on solo organ):
Holst’s Jupiter (tune was also used for “I Vow To Thee, My Country”)
Clarke’s Prince of Denmark March
Handel’s Le Rejouissance from Royal Fireworks Music
Handel’s Entrance of the Queen of Sheba
Beethoven’s Ode to Joy
Bach’s Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring

I’m walking in to Pachabel’s Canon in D. Its been my favorite for as long as I can remember and sounds AMAZING on organ.
If I remember correctly we are walking out to Hornpipe from Water Music.

We’re having an organ! The church we’re getting married in has an organ (and the organist comes with the rental fee for the church), but we haven’t figured out songs yet… I might also ask the handbell choir to play, I’ve been in two different handbell choirs but not this one (we’re getting married where my FI lives, not where I live)
