we are inviting all OOT guests also...
we're having a very casual luncheon before the rehearsal...
As some of you are flying in from out of town (and out of country), this is your "official" notice of the pre-rehearsal lunch as a meet-n-greet with other members of the bridal party... this may also be the first time our families meet each other, so it should be a fun gathering of our nearest and dearest.
Rather than having a semi-formal dinner after the rehearsal, we decided to have very casual lunch first to give all of you a chance to meet and mingle before the practice run of walking the aisle... [since it is kinda wierd walking arm-in-arm with a stranger ;) ].
Immediately after lunch, we will head over to the church and try not to trip as we all walk up the aisle. The trick will be to stay awake after feasting on BBQ - rehearsal should not last longer than 60-80 minutes - i'm guessing it depends on how well we all listen and follow the wedding coordinator's directions - stay awake and alert people!! haha!
If none of us has fallen into a food coma, we want to take everyone out for a drink (or several - you know to take "the edge" off) after the rehearsal. I guess we can play that part by ear. I'm not tryin to look tore up on my own wedding day ;)
If you cannot make it to lunch due to school, work, gotta wash your car, whatever reason, please attend the rehearsal.
Ok - you know the drill - any questions, email or call either one of us!
Feel free to invite your spouse / child(ren)!
Just let either of us know ;)
Also - while this is BBQ spot - if you are vegan, vegetarian , glutien allergic, diabetic or have a special dietary request, please let us know so we can find an alternative for you.
Thanks - Anti! Did you send this out as an e-mail? How was the response to the e-mail? I would like to do that too but also have some people that don't check their e-mail often...
i used e-vite...to convey the very casualness of it...
but for the folks that dont have email or rarely check it - we also sent in out in "newsletter" type...
all that before we decided to move the formal wedding to feb 2009 - instead of august 2008, so we'll hvae to revisit this!
HAPPY PLANNING!
here is ours. FI's parents are hosting and it's going out as an insert in our invitations. hope it helps!
Mr. and Mrs. FI
request the pleasure of your company
at the rehearsal dinner in honor of mzbuggy and FI
Dinner will be held at 7:00PM on Friday, Aug __
at RESTAURANT NAME, ADDRESS
It will immediately follow the wedding rehearsal, to be held at 5:30PM at CHURCH, ADDRESS
Please RSVP to Mrs. FI at PHONE NUMBER
If you are not in the wedding, please feel free to join us for dinner
we actually got alot of funny responses back, like - "i'm lactose intolerant - what kind of stuff does the restaurant have for me?"
the resposnes were positive and i think it made people feel at ease that we did it in such a casual manner - like hello - we already have to "behave" for the wedding and reception - why not kick up our heels for the rehearsal, kwim???

Everyone that is invited to the rehearsal dinner is part of the ceremony somehow so I wanted to find wording that incorporates both the wedding rehearsal at the church and rehearsal dinner - (we are going to hibachi)
Thanks in advance!!
To get you started this is how far I got..
Before they say, "I do"...
