I have about a million weddings to attend this year and I am stumped about what to wear. I’ve been to handful of weddings over the years but I always feel like my dresses are slightly inappropriate for the event.
Can I please see some photos of female guests (either your wedding or weddings you’ve attended) to get an idea of what would be appropriate for an evening wedding?
Thank you in advance!

I wore this to a beach destination wedding ^
^This to my SIL’s super hot yet classy summer wedding
^And this to my husband’s friend’s fall classy wedding.
I don’t have any good pics of what people wore to my wedding and I really don’t think most people dress up enough!

I had the same thing happen last year (and probably a repeat this year) – over the summer alone we had SIX weddings!!!
It depended on the formality of the event but here are some of the things I’ve worn…
For an evening wedding at a hotel, I wore one of my simple little black dresses:
For a daytime, outdoor country club wedding:
For a formal evening wedding at a private club:
I don’t have a good pic of the next one, but I had to share it because I actually re-wore a bridesmaid dress from a wedding I had been in a few months ago! This was an evening wedding at a banquet hall (I’m in the mint green dress):
Hope that helps!! 🙂

My best advice would be to avoid loud prints- I always see wedding pictures where there’s one person in a wildly printed dress throwing off the aesthetic in every shot! Keep it simple and classy! If prints are your thing, understated is key- the floral print dress stephbee171 posted above is a great example and is actually quite lovely! Choose a color you look great in (obviously not white, but I’m pretty sure everybody knows that), choose a fit that is comfortable and flattering, and choose a luxe fabric- silk, satin, chiffon, heavier weave cottons. If you are out of options from your own closet, I highly recommend http://www.renttherunway.com– they can show you the way!

Above are some friends and myself at a friends wedding.
In the orange dress at my FI cousins wedding the dress goes to knees
At another FI cousins wedding this dress has the back part of the skirt longer than the front.

I’m going to second @waterbaby:‘s tips and recommendation for RentTheRunway! I love that site, when you think about it, you rarely rewear the dresses so it’s really a good deal! you can also borrow dresses from friends for more options. Find a dress in a color and style that flatters your shape, is not too tight, and is a classic cut. I like them to have some kind of special detail but nothing that stands out too much!
I have 2 dresses that I’ve worn and worn and worn SO MANY TIMEs. I really need to update them bc at this point it’s getting ridiculous how many times I’ve worn then and also bc I just found out my husband hates my one shoulder dresses! oops! I love them! but I think I can throw in a dress with 2 shoulders into rotation!
This one: which actually is very flattering except when I stick me hands in the pocket making it look like I’m a.) pregnant b.) chunky c.) have a tumor
