go to costco! i saw a movado watch there for like $600. i was going to get it for my guy but he wants a suit instead. :)
My FI wanted a Tag Heuer watch. I think some of their Formula 1/Aquaracer models are sub $1000.
CITIZEN ECO-DRIVE WATCHES ARE AWESOME! They're about $700ish but you can catch them on sale a lot at Macy's. I bought my husband a silver one as his wedding gift :)
i have been eyeing this burberry watch for quite some time - DH really wants a breitling but they are way over 1000.

I bought my DH a Swiss Army watch and it's perfect because he can wear it to work or bumming around on the weekend, it goes with everything. And it's high-end so has all the features you would want.
Back when I bought him the watch I did a lot of reasearch on all available mens watch brands and I identified Swiss Army as an upscale yet affordable (I paid $600) good looking brand.
Depending on his style, I'm always a fan of Nixon watches for men. They have a wide range of prices from $150-1200 :)

Fossil! I bought one for FI and it was his favorite watch for a while. He usually likes those bulky digital ones, so I was really glad he wore the one I got him.
Also, check Amazon when you find something you like. I found FIs watch 31% off and its legit.
Woah a Movado for 600? I'll tell you a watch NOT to get - do not get Invicta. I bought a beautiful Invicta watch for my DH - really stunning. Well, one of the little hatch marks inside the face flicked off and was swimming around inside - 4 months after I purchased it. We tried to send it back to the company (had a warrenty with them) but they were impossible to work with. Long story (if you are interested pm me) but basically, he was not able to wear his fancy watch for our wedding, it was sad. It is getting fixed at another place now, and he should have it within a few weeks - but knowing this, I would never purchase another watch from the company.
I got FI this Burberry watch for christmas and it's absolutely gorgeous. he loves it.

Can anyone suggest a nice brand of mens' watches? I would like to get my FI a nice watch as a wedding gift, but I just dont know if certain brands are considered better than others. I'm not talking about the super-expensive, diamond covered kind. Maybe up to $1000? He likes the kind with a metal band in a silver color.
