OMG What are you doing second guessing??? Such a beautiful dress! It's def still in style, it's going to be a great sillouhette and you will look so elegant! Don't stress yourself out-it's beautiful and you will look beautiful in it!!!!!
Wish I could see a pic of you in the dress! I think it's beautiful Pickup dresses are very in this year, it's not at all out of style. And I love the sweetheart neckline! Most plus size dresses I've seen have a straight neckline and a straight A-line. This one is gorgeous!

I think it's lovely. The pickups are not out of style and the sweetheart neckline is a classic!
I'm also a "big girl" and while I'm doing everything I can to loose weight, I know I won't have the figure I really would love to have by June or whenver we set the final date.
I am so happy you found someone who didn't try to put you in the "fat girls" dress!!

Actually, I was very happy with the sales lady. At first she did try the "usual suspects" but I told her I wanted something different. She went and collected the largest sizes in all sorts of shapes and fabrics instead of just telling me the things she thought wouldn't look good on me.
I hated that "no, you can't wear that" or "no, the fabric won't give you a nice shape" and the one that almost made me hit the first lady "honey, that won't hold you in"!!! She didn't even let me try!!! 
The second lady let me try what I wanted or a design close to what I wanted so that I would see it with my own eyes and move on if it wasn't flattering.
@MightySaphire: We didn't think I was gonna find a dress so we didn't take pictures and now I have to wait until it arrives. 3 months before the wedding!!! (store policy). That's pretty much the reason I don't feel confident about my choice.
I have not seen any other brides wearing my dress either, but I relish being unique. Just think how special it will be to have a dress that is all your own! In my opinion, sometimes when you see a million girls all wearing the same thing that means it has already become a trend, and that means it will soon be out of fashion. I think your dress is lovely and timeless!

That's a beautiful dress. If you're looking for pictures of real brides in the dress, try looking for pictures of the Maggie Sottero Capri. It's a very similar style and there should be lots of pictures floating around.

I think the dress is gorgeous and the silhouette will look fabulous. The sweetheart neckline is classic and elegant. If you have concerns about the dress "holding you in", invest in some quality lingerie that you can use forever to give you additional structure. That's what I plan on doing...

Read this post by Mrs. Kiwi, then ask yourself again..."Is this MY dress, my ideal dress?" The dress is not out of style, though, it's a very classic look and very pretty so don't be worried about that part!
I LOVE pick up skirts, and they're completely IN STYLE. I was going to get one, and then I started thinking Id like to go the more traditional route. Pickups still make my heart beat a little faster, but Im happy with my decision. The only reason I didnt get a pickup skirt was because I fear they may eventually look 'dated'- much like the puffy, satin dresses of the '80s. But, I guess all dresses will look slightly dated anyway. That dress is GORGEOUS- dont doubt yourself.
LOVE that dress. The style is beautiful - I love the details on the full skirt. GREAT choice - no second guessing!

I think it's a beautiful dress and in style. I got married in September, and my dress was very similar. I think the important thing is that you feel beautiful in the dress.
I don't think it should matter wether its in style or not. You could wear your mom's wedding dress and as long as it was the dress, no one would care because you would shine confidently!
The dress is gorgeous and if you love it then so will everyone else!

If you're worried about being unique, I think you can add some crazy and fun accessories that will REALLY jazz it up. Check out the indie bride website for some ideas too.

Well you've had enough people tell you, its a beautiful dress, you will look beautiful in it I'm sure. It made me so comforted to know that I'm not the only person that worries like this! I'm VERY pear shaped, and so initially loved my dress then my body woes got the best of me. On my way back to loving it. Its all in your head honeybee, your man to be is going to love it, know that.
That dress is very pretty and pick up skirts are definitely in style right now! I tried on 4 or 5 dresses with pick up skirts that I really liked when I was trying to find my dress, it just turned out that none of them were exactly what I was looking for. I think you will look great! I'm shocked you haven't seen them filling the lastest bridal magazine pages - I get Martha's Weddings and Brides, and I've definitely seen tons of dresses within the last year with pickup skirts :-)
If that dress is "out of style" then I will be in mine. My dress is from Maggie Sottero and looks very similar. I think you will look beautiful! If you feel good in the dress, that is what matters. In the end, it's your day marrying the person you love most. Good luck!! :)

Hello Hive!
I'm getting married in Aug. 09! I just got may wedding dress and I'm second guessing. I'm a size 18 and it was very difficult to find samples that fit me. It was a dreadful experience the first time. Luckily, on my second trip to the bridal shop I lucked out with a great lady who knew more than the throw all the "fat bride" dresses at me (by that I mean very traditional and shapeless).
Story short, my dress is definitely not the most original but my mom and FI LOVE it. It does put the biggest grin on my face but I'm not sure if it's because the search is over or I like the dress.
I have searched high and low for brides wearing this dress and I can't find any!
It makes me feel like I ordered something out of style. Can you please answer the following:
1. Is my dress out of style?
2. Have you seen other brides wear it?
