OK, you ladies were so helpful with my “is the dress too poofy” question that I’m back for accessory guidance! : ) For the wedding I’ll wear my hair down, in loose waves, pulled back on one side. Probably no veil, but if I do, it will be a very simple shoulder length one only during the ceremony.
Originally, when I was going to have a more classic dress, I had envisioned having a huge fascinator type hairpiece (fiance is English, so I feel like it gives me an excuse to wear one!). However, I opted for a frilly, romantic dress with a very “busy” lower half, so I need to tone down the hairpiece to compensate. Should I go for:
a simple jeweled barette? (pearls and rhinestone match the brooch on the waistband)
a barette plus fun feather?
a simple flower?
a flower plus low key fascinator?
Thoughts? Btw, I also have the option to remove the brooch from the dress (the sample I tried on in the store didn’t have the brooch so that people could customize if they wished) and replace with a flower, if that changes anyone’s mind…

I could picture a fascinator with this dress! =]
Because as your dress may be described as “poofy” because of the skirt, it is also IMO soft and very angelic, I love your dress!
I dont know your thoughts since its not listed but have you played with a birdcage veil and a feather/pearl/rhinestone comb maybe!! I think it would be so pretty!!!
I too plan to wear my hair down! So almost seems as though options are more limited! But have fun with and Best of Luck!
You’ll look gorgeous no matter WHAT!

@CupCakeMeg: Thanks! I actually did try on a birdcage veil/fascinator during my first time dress shopping, so I’ll keep that in mind, good idea!

I voted for the last one. Great dress! Is that first pic in RK?

I voted for the feathers, it goes great with the ruffles of your beautiful dress!!

i definitely like the last one. i think it looks best with the dress and is just the prettiest. the other ones don’t really stand out as anything special to me.

I voted for the first one, definitely! A simple hair comb (something similar to the picture) with crystals and pearls would look lovely. The one with a feathers is also nice but not in keeping with your dress. The other two are far to busy. I think you need something quite simple, as to not make it all look a bit too much.

i thought something simple since the ruffles are already “busy” you don’t want to be too “busy”, I don’t mean in a bad way

Your dress is very soft and romantic. I would go for a hair piece that is soft and romantic as well. I like the last one the best.
Or something like this…

Thank you all so much for your input, I really appreciate it.
@katsupgirl: You have sharp eyes! Yes, indeed, that is RK Bridal. : )
@topolino: Thanks for the suggestions! I might have to hire you as a personal shopper : )

Update: since the poll showed that you guys were nearly tied between the simple barette and the fascinator (opposite ends of the spectrum!), and my girlfriends were also split vote, I’m going to go for the best of both: simple barette for the ceremony/majority of photos (we’re doing a first look and taking pics beforehand so we can join in the fun at the cocktail hour), and then the fascinator for the cocktail hour and reception. ; )
