I’m in a bind.
I purchased the Allure C207 a few months ago, but long story short, due to some unfavorable issues with the store, I may have to cancel my order and demand a refund this week.
Now: My issue — Do I rebuy the same dress somewhere else orrrrr a different one?
Flash back to a few months ago. Before I bought the Allure dress, I fell in love with the Saison Blanche 3118. I was comparing every dress to its awesome drama as it was one of the first I tried on. But, the skirt was so heavy and I was worried about being comfortable/able to dance, so I went in another direction. The sample was a 14 and I’m a size 4, so the skirt may be lighter in my size, but I was worried about taking that chance.
I love the Allure dress, too, and I love lace (that’s what I set out to buy from the beginning — lace) but now that my order may fall through, I can’t help but wonder if I should go after my first love instead.
Below are pics of the dresses. None of me in them, unfortunately, but my body is very similar to the Saison Blanche model. I’m tall and pretty skinny, B-cup, brown hair.

That Allure dress is stunning. You sound like you have a phenomenal figure and I think the Allure dress will do amazing things for it!

I say you should definitely take the chance to try the Saison Blanche on once again and, if possible, take some pictures of you in it. There’s no need to make a decision right this second after all. You can take the next few days to compare your thoughts on the two dresses, envision whether it goes with your venue and vision, and really KNOW your final decision once you make it. Better to do a little extra consideration now rather than have dress regret later!

In my mind, there is no comparison…that Allure dress is soooo classic and elegant. That’s the kind of dress you’ll look back and be happy that you picked it.

@lauraashley09: I agree! Allure hands down!

Tell me more about your style and vision for the wedding .
I love the last dress as long as it fits the style of your wedding.
I feels it’s more modern/chic where as the other one is more romantic/classic
They are both great choices

- Wedding: August 2013 - The Liberty House
I like the Allure better. I’m not really a fan of the flowered skirts like the Saison Blanche, but I really like the top of that dress. I guess now that i think about it, I like that saison blanche better than other dresses like it that I’ve seen

@riakd: I voted for the lace Allure gown, but that’s just personal preference. It sounds as though you’ve been picturing yourself in a lace gown for quite a while, but I can understand wanting the drama of the skirt on the Saison Blanche.
Would you consider looking for a dress that combines the dramatic skirt with the lace you also love? Or is it one of these or nothing?
I did a little searching, and I found this:
Sorry the picture is so small, but you can always check out a larger image on the designer’s website. This is the Justin Alexander 8643. It’s just an example, of course, but it has the lace bodice with a very dramatic skirt. (And bonus points because it looks like it wouldn’t be incredibly heavy!)
It sounds like you have a great figure, so I’m sure you’d look beautiful in anything. I’d probably look into some other dresses, though, so you don’t feel like you have to give up one thing for another.

@Holly77: The wedding cremony is taking place in a large, ornate Greek Orthodox cathedral. The reception will be indoors in a very large, semi-fancy hotel ballroom — about 230 guests.
My vision for the wedding is a romantic, Victorian type ambiance. Lots of flowers (cream, white, dark golden yellow and gold) and candles. The invitations I’m looking at have a vintage/Victorian floral pattern in silver/gold/taupe on cream cardstock.
Though the Saison Blanche is more modern, I thought the big floral skirt was romantic and Victorian in a way.
The lace, of course, is romantic. Maybe not as Victorian, but definitely classy and fancy enough for the venue.

i think you should go for the allure. it’s the one you ordered so you obviously chose it because of the way you feel in it. I personally think the fabric puffy flowers on dresses are a fad, and 20 years from now you’ll look back and say what was i thinking?! like puffy shoulders on gowns in the 80s. I think the lace is more classy and timeless and will look amazing on you, accentuating your figure.

Definitely the first one… it’s georgeous! And more elegant than the second, IMO.
Yay to you on this exciting occasion!
